Working with Richardson opens the door to a world of possibility. We currently have an opportunity for a Sanitarian at our Portage la Prairie, MB location. Reporting to the Supervisor Title this position is responsible for the cleanliness and sanitation through the pro-active inspection and thorough cleaning of the Mill and all related system equipment.

Responsibilities:

  • Cleaning of the product flow systems and equipment

  • Monitor and report plant conditions

  • Accurate completion of all documentation

  • Confined space entry (grain bins, railcars, etc.)

  • Operates in accordance with all food safety policies and procedures

  • Operates in accordance with all health, safety and fire prevention regulations and practices

Qualifications:

  • Grade 12 or equivalent

  • Ability to work in a processing environment and adverse conditions (confined spaces, heights, hot environments)

  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; planning and organizational skills

  • Physically capable of lifting (up to 50 lbs)

  • Ability to effectively wear respiratory protection

  • Ability to work overtime including evenings and week-ends may be required

  • Proficiency with computers is an asset
