Job Description :

SUMMARY

This position is responsible for providing expertise, guidance, leadership and support for all matters relative to Safety, Health and Security (SHS) at US locations.

Support Field Management Relative to:Employee and Driver (CMV) Safety and Prevention Issues, Regulatory Compliance (DOT / FMCSA / PHMSA / OSHA /FDA), Hazard Analysis and Solutions, SHS Event Investigation and Root Cause Analysis, SHS Training

Sales Process Support

Customer Interactions Relative to: SHS Expertise, Hazard Analysis and Solutions Regulatory Compliance Issues

Environmental Process Support

Security Process Support and Workplace Violence

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Serve as primary SHS contact to SCS field locations and teams

Implement and maintain effective safety management systems

Provide effective SHS training for field management

Coordinate event reporting, investigation and Root Cause Analysis. Coordinate investigations of fatalities and major events. Coordinate and conduct effective audit/Kaizen events. Coordinate effective CSA Compliance/Performance Coordinate SHS Sales Support. Coordinate SHS Support for Startups, Relocations, Shutdowns, etc. Coordinate investigation of employee allegations or complaints. Coordinate security support, work place violence occurrences

Serve as primary interface with regulatory agencies/investigations

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION

Bachelor's degree Safety Science/Management or 8 years equivalent work experience.

Master's degree Safety Science/Management preferred.

EXPERIENCE

Eight (8) years or more experience Working regulatory knowledge/strong technical skills in OSHA, DOT and Hazmat

Eight (8) years or more experience Direct experience developing and managing employee safety and health programs

Eight (8) years or more experience Proven experience in a multiple location environment

SKILLS

Capable of multi-tasking, highly organized, with excellent time management skills. Proven organizational and time management skills with ability to multi-task

Demonstrates time management and priority setting skills.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Effective interpersonal skills.

Understand computer hardware and software, especially word processing, spreadsheets, and email.

Ability to create and maintain professional relationships within all levels of the organization (peers, work groups, customers, supervisors).

Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.

Flexibility to operate and self-driven to excel in a fast-paced environment.

Detail oriented with excellent follow-up practices

KNOWLEDGE

Excellent computer knowledge; advanced level.

LICENSES

Other CSP-Certified Safety Professional, preferred.

Other CDS-Certified Director of Safety, preferred.

Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) CLASS A , preferred.

Other Possess or ability to obtain OSHA 501/503 certification (None, required).

Other Possess or ability to obtain MazMat certification (None, required).

TRAVEL - 50% or more

Compensation Information :

The compensation offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's relevant experience; education, including relevant degrees or certifications; work location; market data/ranges; internal equity; internal salary ranges; etc. The position may also be eligible to receive an annual bonus, commission, and/or long-term incentive plan based on the level and/or type. Compensation ranges for the position are below:
