Job Description :

Summary

The Manager Transportation is responsible for all client facing transportation management activities including field operations. Client base may include up to 3-4 clients generating up to $90 million freight under management. Book of business will generate approximately $4M in operating revenue and $1M in operating margin.

Essential Functions

  • Applies product knowledge to develop enhanced solutions for customer satisfaction while improving revenue/margins for Ryder
  • Works cohesively with all Ryder internal Subject Matter Experts including Sales, Transportation, Management Center, Operations, Supply Chain Excellence, marketing, Pricing, Finance and IT
  • Aligns efforts and results to customer requirements and scope of work
  • Develops and manages Field Support teams including staffing and work load planning. Develops Field Support Strategies. New customer implementation support. Develops and monitors Field Support measures of performance. Develops Transportation strategy to support client's logistic strategy, define the strategy based on new business requirements
  • Develops and manages corrective actions and continuous process improvement
  • Develops and improves standardized work processes
  • Financial/Account Performance management & reporting
  • Supervises others (hire, promote, coach, develops and performance management)
  • Develop saving opportunities for Ryder and customer
  • Organic revenue growth within client portfolio

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required in Business, Logistics or related field of study or a minimum of 8 years of relevant work experience
  • Master's degree preferred in Business, Logistics or related field
  • Eight (8) years or more relevant work experience required
  • Seven (7) years or more industry related experience required
  • Seven (7) years or more previous experience with financials and finance acumen required

Compensation Information :

The compensation offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's relevant experience; education, including relevant degrees or certifications; work location; market data/ranges; internal equity; internal salary ranges; etc. The position may also be eligible to receive an annual bonus, commission, and/or long-term incentive plan based on the level and/or type. Compensation ranges for the position are below:
