SAIC is seeking an organized and motivated engineer to lead a team of their peers towards the development of complex Automated Test Equipment (ATE) systems for the Navy. The ideal candidate brings broad electrical engineering experience and skillsets with some project management experience, and familiarity with systems engineering to this position.
You will lead the design, development, documentation and testing of complex Automated Test Equipment (ATE) systems for the Navy that consist of analog, digital, and power electronics, embedded systems such as FPGAs, commercial off the shelf (COTS) equipment such as AC and DC supplies, switching, and instrumentation, National Instruments (NI) PXI, and cRio, systems, extensive cabling and interconnection, Virginia Panel Corporation (VPC) Mass Interconnect systems, and LabVIEW and Test Stand software.
You will lead and work alongside your team of mixed electrical and software engineers. You will liaison between customer and SAIC management. You will develop, communicate, and execute comprehensive plans to meet aggressive schedules and develop complex systems and associated documentation. You will also develop and present recurring status and presentation materials.
Candidates should demonstrate a history of excelling in multiple roles, designing multiple systems, and being self-directed and proactive.
Qualifications
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
· 5+ years of engineering design, analysis, and testing
· Past experience leading teams and successful completion of multiple projects
· Must demonstrate strong organizational skills and the ability to work on multiple tasks concurrently with changing deadlines and priorities.
· Must be able to work in a team environment while completing tasks in an unsupervised and self-directed fashion.
DESIRED SKILLS IN SOME (NOT ALL) OF THESE AREAS:
· Experiencing using and designing systems that use National Instruments hardware such as PXI, cRio, cDAQ, and software such as LabView, TestStand, or CVI.
· Experience designing, testing, and troubleshooting electronics using equipment such as oscilloscopes, DMMs, logic analyzers, DAQs, etc.
· Experience with software PLM tools like Codebeamer, Azure Dev Ops, Jira, or equivalent.
· Experience with hardware PLM tools like ARAS, Windchill, or equivalent.
· Experience or exposure to C++,C#, Python.
· Familiarity with the design and analysis of grounding, shielding, and cabling to reduce noise.
· Experience analyzing test and measurement data.
· Experience developing both circuit-level and system-level schematics.
· Experience developing and executing test plans.
· Experience leading a team, effective delegation, and holding team meetings.
· Some familiarity with project estimation, work breakdown structures (WBS), MS Project, and other project management tools and concepts
· Some familiarity with Systems Engineering deliverables, reviews, and concepts
· Experience or familiarity in developing systems engineering documentation and analysis in relation to Level of Repair analysis (LORA), Failure Modes, Effects, and Criticality Analysis (FMECA), Test Requirement Documents (TRD), Reliability and Maintainability.
CLEARANCE:
· Must be a US citizen able to obtain clearance up to the level of SECRET.
EDUCATION:
· B.S. in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering
· M.S in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering is desired, but not required
LOCATION:
Role involves on-site and in-person management of staff as well as regular visits to the government customer site. While there will be some opportunities to complete tasking from home, this role requires the candidate to be able to commute to the Middletown, RI SAIC office and/or Navy site in Newport,RI 4-5 days a week.
