SAIC is seeking a Director of Strategy to join SAIC's Space and Intelligence Business Group (SIBG) to focus on the Department of the Air Force's Rapid Capabilities Office (RCO).  The Director of Strategy will drive mission success and focus on maximizing value from its multiple, large IDIQ contracts with the Department of the Air Force and Intelligence Community.

The position is designated as flex work, but requires frequent on-site work in the Northern VA area, with travel about 30% of the time. This position requires an active TS/SCI Clearance with Polygraph.

The Director of Strategy is responsible for leading the creation of compelling Customer engagements, industry partnerships, and is tasked with developing and implementing a vision and strategy that will capture a robust pipeline that support the BG and enterprise growth objectives. Additionally, this person will partner with the BG's business development professionals to identify, qualify, and assist with the capture of opportunities originating from their assigned customers.

The ideal candidate will have a history of leading, composing, and winning technical proposal efforts for formal government evaluation. The candidate will understand the Business Development, proposal development, and Client engagement processes process and how to apply their skills to drive success.   

Responsibilities:

  • Apply a strong understanding of USAF and its mission partners, to include leadership, organizational behavior, buying practices, major programs and industry positions, to develop a strategy that can manage a dynamic, multi-year pipeline of opportunities.
  • Ability to assess organizational growth objectives and align them to defined opportunity targets to ensure a robust pipeline within the assigned portfolio area.
  • Strong engagement skills and ability to communicate SAIC solutions and capability offerings to potential customers
  • Close interaction with SAIC's Air Force and Combatant Commands (AFCC) BG team members including operational leadership, and SMEs to build and execute call plans to position SAIC for successful pursuits.
  • Lead strategic planning and positioning for USAF HQ and DAF RCO opportunities, with emphasis on winning business by delivering differentiated capabilities from SAIC's extensive solutions portfolio.
  • Apply SAIC procedures and best practices to partner with SIBG business development teams to identify and qualify opportunities and thereby meet goals for pipeline sufficiency and quality.
  • Support post-qualification capture and proposal development for approved opportunities, particularly in the areas of customer engagement; teaming; and coordination with internal business development and sales resources. 

Qualifications

  • Possess a minimum Top Secret clearance, SCI desirable.
  • 10 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's Degree. Master's and 6 Years of experience.
  • Current knowledge of DAF mission partners, including existing customer and industry peer relationships. Understanding and experience with of Other Transaction Authorities (OTAs).
  • Recent experience and touchpoints in AF/Joint arena is a major plus.
  • Familiarity with Business Development process model.
  • Outstanding verbal, writing, and inter-personal skills needed to communicate effectively and persuasively with personnel at all levels, both in customer spaces and within SAIC.
  • Business experience with DoD customers with focus on innovation and technology insertion; understanding of advancements in technology and revolutionary concepts that offer potential enhancements or breakthroughs in military capabilities.
