Position Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Enterprise Architect/ Systems Architect (Senior) to join our team in Ashburn, VA. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cloud architecture/deployments and workload migration to cloud. The successful candidate will deliver secure, compliant, and robust cloud architectures for hosting enterprises workloads.

Job Responsibilities

• Designing and overseeing an organization's overall IT infrastructure, ensuring its alignment with business objectives by developing architectural standards, evaluating existing systems, and recommending new technologies to optimize operations and facilitate future growth.
• Architecting and designing cloud solutions for enterprise business requirements.
• Automating provisioning and management of cloud infrastructure to support the development organizations.
• Developing secure, highly available, and cost-efficient cloud native architectures as part of re-architecting and modernizing existing workloads.
• Developing and managing cloud security governance based on Government requirements and industry best practices.
• Developing and managing policies to enforce role-based access controls to meet the business requirements.
• Supporting major/minor release deployments
• Evaluating existing security practices, procedures, controls and provide recommendations for improvement.
• Supporting Zero Trust architectures
• Supporting Information Security programs by implementing cloud strategies and solution architectures to accomplish objectives.
• Identify and adopt best practices, architectural solution patterns, new technologies to address current and future needs, enhance security, and optimize costs.
• Support SecDevOps practices and managing CI/CD pipelines.

Qualifications

Required Skills and Experience

• Proven experience in designing and implementing enterprise-level IT systems
• Deep understanding of IT technologies including cloud computing, databases, middleware, networking, and security 
• Experience migrating legacy systems to cloud based systems
• Proficiency in designing and modeling enterprise architectures using industry standard tools 
• Hands-on Experience with a diverse set of Amazon Web Services (e.g., compute, storage, network, security, administration, automation, application services, databases)
• Extensive experience with AWS managed databases including RDS, Aurora, and Redshift
• Extensive experience with JEE Servers (e.g. WebLogic, WebSphere, JBoss), PostgreSQL, MQ, Kubernetes, and InformaticaMust have experience with:
• Hands on experience with SQL and SQL databases
• Experience debugging performance and technical issues
• Extensive experience building and deploying systems to cloud environments using CI/CD pipelines, frameworks, and infrastructure automation.
• Experience managing SecDevOps in an AWS platform

 

Desired Skills and Experience

• Team player and effective collaboration skills working with various enterprise teams (application, networking, security) to develop solutions and resolve issues
• Excellent verbal and written communication and effectively work well independently and in a team environment
• Ability to analyze complex issues, identify root causes, and develop effective solutions 
• Experience educating development teams on cloud services
• AWS Certifications (e.g. Developer, Architect, DevOps)

 

 Customer Requirements:

• Clearance – Ability to obtain and hold a public trust position and favorable suitability based on a CBP Background Investigation
• Citizenship – Must be a US Citizen
• Location – On-site work with the possibility of up to 5 days a week in Ashburn, VA.
