SAIC is looking for a highly motivated Executive Communications Travel Team Member within the J6 Directorate of USTRANSCOM located at Scott Air Force Base (AFB) in Illinois. The USTC Managed Information Technology Services (MITS) contract is intended to provide strategic, technical, and program management guidance and support services to facilitate the operations and modernization of the combatant command's infrastructure, systems, and applications. This support will be provided to the USTC Command, Control, Communications & Cyber Systems Directorate (TCJ6).
The successful candidate would travel worldwide with the Commander, Deputy Commander, and USTRANSCOM VIPs, and supporting staff members to deploy, operate, and maintain mobile command and control (C2) systems, ensuring they have reliable, secure access to critical communications from any location, worldwide.
Responsibilities:
- Serves as the primary on-site technical expert and first point of contact for all IT and Command and Control (C2) system issues for the commander, immediate staff and other Very Important Person (VIP) members.
- Must be willing and able to travel frequently, sometimes on short notice, both domestically and internationally.
- Manages and operates the commander's executive communications package, including secure/unsecure voice, video, and data systems (e.g., VTC, VoIP, SATCOM).
- Ensures seamless integration and interoperability between mobile systems and fixed-base networks.
- The equipment shall be ready to deploy within one hour of the notifications for deployment.
Performs rapid, on-the-spot troubleshooting and resolution of hardware, software, and network connectivity problems in any diverse environment if required. - Provides clear, concise, and non-technical updates to the commander and key staff on system status, capabilities, and limitations.
- Acts as the liaison between the commander's traveling team and rear-echelon IT support elements.
- Able to operate with minimal supervision in dynamic and unpredictable environments.
- Deploys, configures, and maintains all IT and communication equipment for the command team during travel, exercises, and operations.
- Conducts pre-mission checks and preventative maintenance on all deployable kits to ensure mission readiness.
- Sanitizes equipment as required and ensures proper handling of classified materials and hardware.
This position is Monday through Friday, normal business hours. However, employee may be required to provide after-hours and weekend support during planned or emergency events.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Ten (10) or more years of experience of executive communications support
- DoD Top Secret clearance with SCI
- Must have at least one of these IAT Level II certifications: Security+, CECCNA-Security, CySA+ **, GICSP, GSEC, CND, SSCP
- Must have at least one Computing Environment (CE) certification or certificate for the technical area of responsibility in either Network support/defense (e.g., Splunk, Cisco, McAfee, etc.) OR Operating System (e.g., Microsoft, Linux, Solaris, etc.)
- Demonstrated experience authoring technical documentation, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and system diagrams for technical peers.
- Experience with MS Office to include Word, PowerPoint, Visio, and Project
- Ability to manage multiple, high, & competing priorities in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment
- Superior oral and written communication skills across all levels, with a demonstrated ability to brief senior leaders effectively.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues under extreme pressure.
