SUMMARY:
The Executive Protection Supervisor ensures the safety, welfare, and physical protection of a high-profile client, while also providing strategic leadership and tactical oversight for a dedicated team of Executive Protection Agents. This role involves directly managing a small team, being the primary point of contact for security operations at SAIC's Reston Headquarters, and ensuring seamless executive protection operations during both routine and emergency scenarios. This is an on-site role requiring full-time presence during core business hours, Monday through Friday, with occasional after-hours availability as needed.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Leadership & Team Management
- Provide direct supervision, mentorship, and management of a small team of Executive Protection Agents to ensure their operational effectiveness and professional development.
- Oversee daily operations, assign tasks, and establish clear priorities for team members based on the security and protection needs of the principal and organization.
- Develop and implement performance standards and conduct regular evaluations for members of the team.
- Foster a positive and collaborative team environment while ensuring adherence to company policies and industry best practices.
- Act as the primary point of contact (POC) for all security-related needs at the SAIC Reston Headquarters, coordinating closely with internal stakeholders and external partners.
- Strategic Planning & Operational Oversight
- Create, update, and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all executive protection activities, including risk assessments, threat analysis, and contingency plans.
- Develop and oversee daily protection schedules and ensure adequate coverage for all executive security assignments.
- Conduct routine coordination with external security agencies and law enforcement for intelligence gathering and to maintain situational awareness of emerging threats.
- Maintain a visible, on-site presence during core business hours to oversee and address security needs at Reston HQ effectively.
- Executive Protection & Client Support
- Execute close protection operations for the principal and associated individuals, including family members, during both domestic and international travel—if required.
- Conduct proactive threat and vulnerability assessments to identify potential risks to the client or organization, implementing measures to mitigate these threats.
- Coordinate and perform secure transportation using defensive and/or evasive driving techniques.
- De-escalate tense situations or individuals at the principal's office, residence, or events to prevent disruptions or threats.
- Represent the organization and client with professionalism and discretion during interactions with external stakeholders, vendors, and the public.
- Incident Reporting & Communication
- Document and oversee the completion of all required reports, such as suspicious activity reports, incident reports, shift logs, pattern of life reports, and other required documentation.
- Ensure the team's reports meet established quality standards and are submitted promptly.
- Communicate vulnerabilities, safety concerns, or any operational deficiencies at all locations, escalating issues to leadership as needed.
- Security Logistics & Technical Oversight
- Ensure vehicles are always in clean, safe, and mission-ready condition, performing checks and coordinating necessary preventative maintenance.
- Operate and maintain protective, surveillance, communications, and logistical equipment to ensure mission readiness.
- Identify gaps in operational resources or deficiencies in equipment, escalating these to leadership for corrective action.
- Facility Security & Corporate Coordination
- Serve as the HQ Reston facility security POC, supporting access control, visitor management, and ensuring full compliance with corporate security standards.
- Assist with corporate security investigations and other operational needs as assigned to support broader organizational requirements.
Other Responsibilities
- Serve as an auxiliary investigator for security-related incidents involving corporate interests.
- Perform all other duties required to ensure effective and efficient security operations.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
· A minimum of 10 years of executive protection experience, with proven expertise in advance planning, counter-surveillance operations, and secure transportation (evasive/defensive driving).
· Candidates must have an active Top Secret Clearance
· Flexibility: Must be willing to be available 24/7 for on-call duties in order to uphold our commitment to continuous operational readiness, which includes providing SAIC a mechanism for which to contact you.
o In addition, candidate must be willing to provide on-site support commensurate with the duties as assigned.
· At least 5 years of direct supervisory or management experience, preferably in an executive protection or security-related role.
· Proven ability to supervise multidisciplinary teams, establish priorities, and maintain operational schedules.
· Ability to maintain a full-time, on-site presence during core business hours (Monday–Friday) at the SAIC Reston Headquarters.
· Possess a current HR218 certification
· Executive Protection Training Certificate and Defensive Driver Certification required.
· Demonstrated experience conducting risk/threat analysis and site assessments for corporate or personal protection.
· Superior written and verbal communication skills, including exceptional report writing and presentation capabilities.
· Ability to work in high-pressure, fast-paced environments while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality.
