The SAIC Corporate Finance Department is seeking a Finance Intern. This is an ideal opportunity for college students seeking real-world finance experience with an organization driven to advance the power of technology and innovation to serve and protect our world. This internship will offer opportunities to work with senior leaders and contribute to important corporate finance projects while gaining valuable work experience. Interns will have exposure to the full scope of corporate finance including; Accounting, Financial Reporting, Financial Planning & Analysis, Project Control, Government Compliance, Investor Relations, Treasury and Tax. You will gain valuable experience to accelerate your learning and make a lasting impact on our business.
Throughout the internship there are ongoing learning events such a lunch and learns and regularly scheduled training offerings designed to help you develop technical and professional skills. Interns will collaborate with fellow interns on a special project and present to senior leaders at the conclusion of the internship. Social activities will also be available to network with SAIC professionals.
This position is 100% remote nationwide.
Internship Duties & Responsibilities
The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated self-starter who has keen analytical and organizational skills with strong attention to detail. This individual should have the ability to work collaboratively with employees at various levels throughout the company and be able to meet tight deadlines as necessary.
Representative responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
- Gain exposure to SEC financial reporting and government contracting compliance requirements
- Assist with Investor Relations related activities and research
- Perform data analysis and reporting key performance indicators and operational trends
- Financial modelling using MS Office Excel
- Analyze selected financial statement and prepare reconciliations
- Assist with daily cash position report, monthly bank reconciliations, and month-end closing procedures
- Support preparation of tax returns and other special tax projects
- Participate in quarterly forecasting planning and analysis
Qualifications
Required Education and Requirements:
- High School and two (2) or more years of college coursework at an accredited university, majoring or having completed coursework in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business Administration
- High Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint- formulas, analytics, effective data presentation
- Should be adaptable; duties, responsibilities and requirements may change over time and according to the project's needs
- Ability to work independently while utilizing team for guidance
- Recent teamwork/leadership roles
- Prior related work experience is also considered
