·    Launch Mission Integration Panel Engineer provides specialized launch mission assurance technical support to the Mission Integration Panel.  Responsibilities include independent technical assessments and engineering evaluations based on expert knowledge and analysis and review of launch vehicle (LV) and satellite vehicle (SV) systems and interfaces.

 

·    Job Responsibilities:

o  Provides SV-to-LV integration, manifesting, and launch expertise

o  Supports LV & SV contractor reviews to assess progress, issues, and meeting mission requirements traceability

o  Provides the mission director and mission management team an independent risk assessment of launch readiness, including integrated LV/SV team performance during day of launch exercises.

o  Provides insights into SV issues that may affect the LV/SV interface or LV hardware

o  Supports New Entrant and other program initiatives, including heritage launch vehicle fly-out missions

o  Facilitates launch collaboration activities among USG stakeholder organizations

o  Generate lessons learned that can be shared across mission teams

o  Interfaces with key mission personnel from mission partners including launch vehicle contractors, satellite contractors, AF program offices, NASA and other mission stakeholder groups

o  Maintains familiarity with the strategic roadmap and updates to US space policy

o  Generates reports and presentations for launch enterprise internal and external reviews

o  Retains cognizance over all launch related studies and provides leadership with timely and relevant assessments

o  Assesses new entrant's capabilities and processes

o  Monitors and assesses fleet wide issues affecting mission assurance

Qualifications

o  Required Education and Experience:

§  Bachelor's Degree (STEM)

§  15 years of space launch experience

§  5 years government acquisition experience

§  Extensive knowledge of USG launch policy and procedures

§  Thorough understanding of satellite vehicle launches interface requirements, launch transportation and processing requirements

§  Ability to perform thorough analysis and quick issue resolution simultaneously

§  Substantive experience providing risk assessments and risk management recommendations to program managers in support of successful mission accomplishment

§  Must communicate effectively with senior management as well as employees at all levels and demonstrate effective writing skills

o  Desired Education, Certifications, Skills, Expertise, Years of Experience:

§  Master's Degree

§  20 years of space launch experience

o  Required Clearances:

§  TS/SCI with Counterintelligence (CI) Poly


Target salary range: $160,001 - $200,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
