SAIC is seeking a Logistics Analyst to work at United States Transportation Command's (USTRANSCOM) Logistics Sustainment Division  and begin an exciting and challenging career with SAIC. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in logistics and experience with data analysis to support the division's mission.  (This is an onsite position at Scott AFB, IL)

Job Summary:

The Logistics Analyst will work as part of a team to analyze and optimize logistics operations, with a focus on cargo movements and transportation planning. The candidate will apply their knowledge of logistics principles and practices to identify areas for improvement and develop solutions to increase efficiency and effectiveness. Additionally, the candidate will utilize data analysis skills to inform logistics decisions and support the development of business intelligence reports.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and optimize logistics operations, including cargo movements and transportation planning
  • Develop and implement solutions to improve logistics efficiency and effectiveness
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify logistics requirements and develop solutions to meet those needs
  • Apply data analysis skills to inform logistics decisions and support business intelligence reporting
  • Design, develop, and maintain logistics-related reports and dashboards using tools such as Cognos, Qlik View, Power BI or Tableau
  • Support the development of IT solutions to support USTRANSCOM and the Department of Defense

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field, with 6 years of experience; or relevant years of experience in lieu of a Bachelor's degree
  • Strong knowledge of logistics principles and practices, including transportation planning, cargo movement, and supply chain management
  • Experience with data analysis and business intelligence reporting, including proficiency in tools such as Excel, SQL, and data visualization software
  • Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information
  • Must be a US Citizen and actively possess a Secret Security Clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with data science platforms and tools, such as Python, R, or machine learning algorithms
  • Knowledge of software development lifecycles (scrum, agile etc) and repositories (Bitbucket, GitLab, Github etc)
  • Experience with ETL and data virtualization
  • Familiarity with Department of Defense logistics operations and supply chain management practices
  • Certification in logistics or supply chain management, such as CLM or CSCP

Target salary range: $80,001 - $120,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
