SAIC is seeking a Logistics Manager who is an experienced and knowledgeable individual to oversee CAC2s -Afloat Project and project team in Bedford, IN. This includes the design, assembly, troubleshooting, and installation of the complete CAC2s-Afloat Systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in networking, hardware assembly, and leading small installation teams for shipboard installations of CAC2s-Afloat systems.   

Job Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the technical support for CAC2s-Afloat engineering, drafting, and logistics teams working towards the goal of successful shipboard installations of the CAC2s-Afloat complete enclosure system.
  • Supervises system design drawings and assists with the design, evaluation, and/or modification of networking devices and systems
  • Supervise the performance of non-routine and complex assignments involving responsibility for planning and conducting a complete project of relatively limited scope or a portion of a larger and more diverse project, select and adapt plans, techniques, designs, or layouts, contact personnel in related activities to resolve problems and coordinate the work, review, analyze, and integrate the technical work of others. 
  • Supervise and oversee lower-level technicians and project team members on CAC2s-Afloat Comms and Data enclosure assembly, inner workings, troubleshooting, and all other management tasking.
  • Supervise the designing, development, and construction of CAC2s-Afloat comms and data enclosure systems
  • Supervise and provide technical guidance and training to junior technicians on wiring, network configuration/installing, and troubleshooting techniques
  • Work directly with government cross-functional teams to integrate network and hardware solutions into existing infrastructure, ensuring seamless operations and minimal disruption in project scheduling and shipboard installations
  • Oversee the Implementation of quality control processes to validate the integrity and performance of networking and hardware installations
  • Supervise the development, analyzing, and modification of wiring schematics for various networking configurations, ensuring compliance with DoD standards and practices
  • Strong working knowledge of servers, routers, switches, UPS systems, and radios
  • Oversee the installation, configuration, and testing of CAC2s-Afloat system networking and hardware components for shipboard installations
  • Supervise technician for the assembly of networking equipment and other hardware components to build out CAC2s-Afloat Data and Comms enclosure systems.
  • Sign timesheets and manage employee schedules
  • Compete Monthly Status Reports and Inventory Reports for CDRL compliance
  • Submit and approve travel documentation

Qualifications

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma and a minimum of 5 years of direct experience with CAC2s-Afloat system
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience leading and supervising on-board ship installations teams and technicians
  • Must have in-depth knowledge of CAC2s-Afloat hardware, software, and networking systems.
  • Must have in-depth knowledge of CAC2s-Afloat Data and Comms enclosures building, maintenance, and troubleshooting
  • Must have in-depth knowledge of CAC2s-Afloat Software Installation procedures and troubleshooting
  • Must be able to read and understand technical manuals, networking diagrams, wiring schematics, and blueprints.
  • Must be able to assist in the creation and design of technical documents such as training manuals, networking diagrams, wiring schematics, and system blueprints
  • Strong working knowledge of network devices such as routers, servers, switches, UPSs, and radios
  • Familiarity with network protocols and configuration
  • Must have excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Must have strong communication and leadership abilities.
  • Physical ability to lift 50 pounds and work in confined spaces when necessary.
  • Proficient with mechanical and electrical tooling and testing equipment.
  • Must be willing to climb and work at heights of excess of 100 feet in the air on board Naval Platforms.
  • Must be attentive to details to ensure products meet Government required quality commitments.
  • Must be willing to travel up to 10 times a year to varying locations OCONUS/CONUS.
  • Must be able to lead and organize teams both organically and inorganically.
  • Must possess excellent communication and written skills

Required Clearance and Certification:

  • Must be a US Citizenship
  • Must be able to obtain a Secret clearance; not needed to start.
  • CompTIA Security+ Certification (DoD 8570)
