SAIC is seeking an Engineering Technician V to support the Infrared and Radio Frequency (IR/RF) Countermeasures Design Branch located at NSWC Crane in Crane, Indiana. 

Job Description, includes but is not limited to:  
Support engineering activities such as design, test, modification, fabrication and assembly of prototype electronic and mechanical systems, experimental design circuitry, laser/light transmission devices or specialized test equipment. Applications may include electronic circuits, photonics and logic systems. Works from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts or defined plans to perform testing, checkout and trouble-shooting functions. . Assists in determining methods or actions to remedy malfunctions. Collects, maintains, organizes, compiles, and manipulates technical data. Prepares engineering documentation, reports, drawings (sketches/flow charts/diagrams/schematics, etc.). Performs mathematical calculations per engineering specifications. Undertakes analysis of data where guidelines are provided.
 

Job duties include the ability to:

  • Assist in project planning for lifecycle management.
  • Design, review, edit and implement prototype testing.
  • Assist in acquisition engineering planning, quality inspections and vendor review.
  • Configuration Management Planning.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • AA degree in related discipline and nine (9) years related experience; Or High School and eleven (11) years related experience and related advanced certification.

Required:

  • Ability to work independently and within a team to achieve goals, meet schedule requirements, and serve customer needs.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written form at multiple levels of management/command.
  • Ability to analyze, organize, and prioritize work.
  • Ability to develop and review training material, processes, and procedures.
  • Ability to research, read, and follow Technical Orders, directives, regulations, and policies.
  • Ability to research and evaluate situations, provide viable solutions, and execute mission needs.
  • Ability to handle high stress situations and respond appropriately.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 70 lbs.
  • Potential travel:  Up to 25%
  • Obtain/Maintain Secret clearance
