The SAIC Corporate Benefits team is seeking a Senior Benefits Analyst with knowledge of benefit programs, administration, cost analysis and compliance requirements with an ability to write and oversee program communications and perform data analysis in support of the benefits team. Benefit programs include but may not be limited to: disability, paid time off, Life and AD&D, voluntary benefits, Service Contract Act (SCA). This position may be remote anywhere in the US for the right candidate. 

This position reports to the Benefits Manager, Sr. and provides broad opportunities in the following areas:

  • Oversight of the administration and compliance of specialized paid and unpaid leave and disability programs including state paid sick and family leave, short and long-term disability, FMLA and paid family leave. Act as liaison/consultant to the Shared Services Team on these programs.
  • Administration of voluntary benefits including but not limited to: Life, AD&D, Pet Insurance, Critical Illness, Hospital Indemnity, Accident, Life with Long Term Care, Legal, ID Protection.
  • Support Service Contract Act administration, calculation review, employee inquiries, troubleshooting, and resolution.
  • Develop communications to employees, participants, managers and other internal stakeholders, including the VP of Benefits and SVP of Total Rewards.
  • Manage communications for the benefits team and lead Annual Enrollment communications in collaboration with internal and external consultants.
  • Respond to internal and external audit inquiries.
  • Assist and provide counseling to benefit plan participants.
  • Respond to survey requests as directed by the VP of Benefits.
  • Support internal proposal requests for benefits information.
  • Interact with other functional areas such as communications, finance, risk management, legal and government compliance.
  • Develop policies and procedures that support best practices, compliance and positive user experience.
  • Participate in Merger & Acquisition activities including analysis and integration.
  • Other special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree and 5+ years of experience, or a Masters and 3+ years of experience. An additional 4+ years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. 
  • Must be a US Citizen. 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications particularly Excel (pivot tables, vlookup, if/then, etc.), Word, Outlook and PowerPoint.
  • Working knowledge of administration and regulations around Health and Welfare programs.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze and package data that is easily consumable.
  • Proactive, independent and self-motivated and thrive on developing solutions to business problems.
  • Organized, flexible and collaborative with an ability to adapt to changing requirements in a fast-paced business environment.
  • Strong, independent critical-thinking and problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Desired:

  • Knowledge of SCA health & welfare fringe benefit requirements.
  • Oracle HCM and CostPoint systems experience.
  • Microsoft SharePoint experience.
