We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Electronics Technician to provide critical hands-on support for the Expeditionary Electronic Warfare division (MXQ) at NSWC Crane. In this role, you will be instrumental in Counter-Unmanned Aircraft Systems (CUAS) test and evaluation activities involving threat devices, unmanned aircraft systems, RF systems, sensors, test equipment, and supporting field infrastructure.
Job Responsibilities:
- Your primary job responsibilities will include supporting threat device operations such as configuration, inspection, readiness verification, staging, inventory control, operation, recovery, maintenance, and post-test accountability.
- You will serve as a UAS pilot or support technician for CUAS test events, which involve obtaining and maintaining required UAS pilot certifications, licenses, and customer-required qualifications to operate unmanned target devices, communications devices, and remote support platforms.
- Additionally, you will configure, operate, troubleshoot, and maintain RF and electronic test equipment.
This includes testing, troubleshooting, and repairing RF systems, electronic assemblies, cables, modules, circuit cards, power interfaces, and antennas. - You will be responsible for test setup and teardown, validating threat device functionality before and after events, verifying target device characterization, and coordinating seamlessly with test directors, engineers, range personnel, safety personnel, logistics personnel, and Government leads to ensure full field execution readiness.
- You will also assist with target logistics and inventory, support the modification or instrumentation of target hardware for remote use or data collection, and repair or install necessary cables and RF components.
- Furthermore, you will support test equipment readiness, collect and document vital test data, anomalies, and observations, and provide technical support to assist engineers in diagnosing system issues.
- You will be expected to attend planning meetings, schedule sessions, and debriefs while providing input to improve field execution and data collection quality.
- As a subject matter expert on assigned CUAS threat devices, you will support tactical vehicle driver duties and work across laboratory, warehouse, range, and outdoor field environments, including inclement weather, with travel to field test locations as required.
Qualifications
Education Requirement: High school diploma or GED.
Job Requirements:
- Candidates must possess at least 10 years of related professional experience in electronics support, troubleshooting, testing, and maintenance.
- You must also have the ability and willingness to obtain and maintain all applicable training, licensing, certifications, and designations required.
- Obtain and maintain Part 107 drone pilot license for test events.
- Be able to travel at least 25% of the time in support of test events CONUS and OCONUS.
- Must be able to obtain Secret Interim to start.
