SAIC is seeking a Senior Network Engineer for the Unmanned Maritime Systems Support (UMSS) effort. This program will entail Common Control System (CCS) integration in support of REPMUS (Robotic Experimentation and Prototyping with Maritime Unmanned Systems) which is an annual exercise in Portugal.
This position is contingent upon award news, expected July 2026. This position is remote and will involve significant travel annually to Portugal for exercise integration support.
Job Duties:
- Work with the multidisciplinary technical team to ensure successful integration of the Common Control System into REPMUS
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor/Masters Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering
Required Security Clearance:
- Must have an active secret clearance on first day of employment

Desired Qualifications and Experience:
- Experience with Linux OS and Windows OS
- Four years of hands-on enterprise LAN/WAN expertise managing complex routing/switching across high-density and geographically dispersed networks. Experience deploying secure, high-throughput WireGuard VPN tunnels over Starlink satellite links, troubleshooting IP conflicts, and ensuring encrypted end-to-end connectivity between vendors and the CCS
- Five years of experience in military and international exercise planning or maritime operations, proven expertise in expeditionary logistics, and familiarity with NATO tactical
- communications and Maritime Big Play tactical communications. Experience managing tactical coordination, daily battle rhythms, and ship-to-shore logistics for air/maritime uncrewed systems, including executing live operational serials and enforcing strict range safety and security protocols
- 5 years of experience in the physical installation and configuration of server racks, ruggedized tactical computers, and network appliances. Experience performing "bare-metal" OS installations, manual IP schema assignment, and physical integration of hardware components onto maritime or aerial platforms. Proficiency in hardware troubleshooting in expeditionary or field environments
