SAIC is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to join and support our dynamic team in Panama City Beach, Florida.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

This is an excellent opportunity to grow your career and hone your leadership skills while supporting multiple Navy projects of varying complexity. We are seeking a motivated individual eager to apply your expertise in systems engineering, leveraging Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), to enable the successful execution of complex programs.

As an engineering team member, you will:

Contribute to all aspects of the systems engineering technical processes across the entire system lifecycle. You will act as a key technical resource, providing guidance to team members and ensuring that systems engineering best practices are followed. You will also play a pivotal role in overseeing requirements development, system design, integration, risk management, and verification/validation of complex Navy systems using Digital Engineering (DE) and MBSE principles, tools, and methodologies.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Execute all systems engineering technical processes in accordance with program requirements, from initial concept through final delivery.

  • Develop and maintain system models using MBSE frameworks and tools such as Cameo.

  • Guide requirements development, including requirements elicitation, documentation, analysis, and traceability to ensure alignment with system objectives and higher-level customer needs.

  • Perform system architecture design and functional decomposition leveraging Systems Modeling Language (SysML).

  • Develop Interface Control Documents (ICDs) to ensure proper interaction between system components and external systems.

  • Conduct trade studies, feasibility assessments, and performance analyses to identify optimized solutions and design alternatives.

  • Oversee and contribute to integration, verification, and validation (IV&V) efforts, ensuring technical compliance with customer and program requirements.

  • Identify, assess, and manage technical risks, including developing mitigation strategies and providing regular risk reports to stakeholders.

  • Support the development of engineering documentation, technical reports, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.

  • Participate in technical reviews, including System Requirements Reviews (SRR), Preliminary Design Reviews (PDR), and Critical Design Reviews (CDR).

  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers to promote growth and technical excellence within the team.

  • Maintain alignment with customer objectives and provide technical leadership to resolve challenges encountered during all phases of the program lifecycle.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical, electrical, and software engineering, to ensure a cohesive and integrated systems approach.

  • Monitor and adapt engineering plans, schedules, and deliverables in response to evolving program needs, while adhering to project timelines and budgets.

Qualifications

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND CLEARANCE:

  • Bachelor's Degree and 0 years of work experience

  • Ability to understand and work with engineering tools such as MBSE tools, CAD software, or simulation platforms.

  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with an ability to balance multiple tasks and competing priorities in dynamic environments.

  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

  • Must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.  Interim Secret required to start.  SAIC will sponsor qualified candidates for security clearance.

DESIRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Exposure to MBSE tools such as Cameo, or Enterprise Architect.

  • Understanding of risk management principles, including risk identification, assessment, mitigation planning, and monitoring.

  • Knowledge of SysML (Systems Modeling Language) for representing system architecture and requirements in MBSE environments.

  • Knowledge of CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or CREO).

  • Familiarity with military specifications, standards, or commercial development best practices.

  • Experience working in collaborative, team-based environments.

  • Familiarity with systems concepts such as requirements management, risk management, verification, or validation.
