SAIC is seeking a Tactical Network Team Lead to join our team at Fort Benning, Georgia.

The position serves as the primary Maneuver Battle Lab representative for the design and oversight of lower tactical network experimentation. Manages the team responsible for onboarding prototype waveforms, hardware, and software for Maneuver Battle Lab live experimentation events. Serves at the lead tactical network integrator. Work is in person daily at Fort Benning, Georgia with the Maneuver Battle Lab - Live Experimentation Branch.

JOB DESCRIPTION: 
• Advises the MBL staff on lower tactical network modernization efforts.  
• Works with Project Officers, team leads, and the information network manager to provide a robust voice and data network; Provides recommendations for experimentation planning.
• Manage the team's equipment and accountability. Issue, maintain, and provide training oversight on tactical communications equipment.
• Liaison with industry vendors to establish relationships and contacts. 
• Develop and maintain relationships with PM's, capability developers, and S&T contacts to maintain awareness of broader modernization efforts for the ITN+, C2 Fix and NGC2 tactical networks. 
• Provides NSA Type-1 and 256 Bit Encryption Sets for data capable radios.
• Coordinate with Product Manager Soldier Maneuver Sensors (PdM SMS) and local Nett Warrior field service representatives (FSR) to provide adequate hardware, software, and manpower support to experiments. 
• Coordinate with the Cyber Center of Excellence, Installation Spectrum Mangers (ISM), PdM SMS and their Software Integration Lab (SIL), Product Manager Tactical Communications Systems (PdM TCS), ACM Tactical Radio, and the Mission Command Support Center (MCSC).
• Assist network capability providers with the experimentation onboarding process. May include requests for Army Test and Evaluation Command (ATEC) Safety Releases and spectrum clearances.
• Work with the Cyber Battle Lab to build the experimentation networks as required. Cooperate with Cyber-Future Capabilities Directorate (C-FCD) to facilitate lower tactical internet connectivity [Battalion and below].
• Identify gaps and solutions in hardware and software in experimental tactical networks. Work to resource technological gaps. 
• Shares responsibility with Tech Manager for emitter package submission through the ISM; inputs emitter data for EA, EW, and temporary GPS degradation events.
• Perform a variety of tasks in support of facilities sustainment.

 

Qualifications

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: 
• Bachelor's degree and five (5) or more years of related experience working within a tactical military communications section. Six (6) or more years of related experience may qualify in lieu of degree.
• U.S. Army experience in personnel management, training, and operations 
• Experience and expertise with tactical radio networks, RF waveforms, and basic computer networking skills as it relates to tactical radio networks. 
• Must be able to work day or night, in all types of terrain and conditions
• Must be willing to travel to offsite locations when necessary (limited travel)
• Must be able to lift up to 50lbs

REQUIRED CLEARANCE: 
• Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a full Secret clearance
• Must be a current US Citizen

DESIRED SKILLS: 
• Prior U.S. Army battalion staff communications section experience, tactical radio field service representative experience, and graduate of Fort Gordon Signal Branch Courses, officer or enlisted.
