Position Summary: 

Reporting to the Site Supervisor and/or Manager, Transload Operators are responsible for production and product handling operations.

Operators are responsible for following all operating procedures, reporting and troubleshooting equipment issues, preparing equipment for maintenance (LOTO) and preparing safe work documentation such as toolbox meetings, hazard assessments and observations.

This role requires an individual who demonstrates clear and concise communication skills, and who can function in a busy working environment.

Transload Operators are responsible for ensuring the Safety Policy and Requirements are implemented and sustained throughout the work.

This position may be on a shift rotation including night shifts.

  • Loading/Unloading trucks with raw materials
  • Loading/Unloading raw materials from railcars
  • Will be responsible for the operation as it relates to, compressors, auxiliary equipment, engines, pump stations, pumps, valves, tanks, pipelines and other related equipment.
  • Routine visual inspections of railcars, trans loaders, piping, pumps, and other equipment
  • Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of equipment and work area
  • Identify and report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance issues to the appropriate personnel
  • Ability to track volume measurements
  • Sample and test products following procedures
  • Ability to understand and follow operating procedures and policies
  • Ability to operate or learn to operate railcar loading systems and equipment
  • Ability to perform work safely and productively
  • Ability and interest in being cross-trained in all functions at the facility
  • Enforces safety policies and procedures with Team Members and site visitors
  • Assist with other duties within the facility (general maintenance, landscape upkeep, housekeeping, and painting)
  • Interact with customers, railroad crews, subhaulers, and other visitors

Requirements for a successful Transload Operator:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent 
  • Read, write and understand of English
  • Experience in any fluid handling operation
  • Experience in truck loading operations
  • Capable to learn how to operate and maintain railcar/trans loading equipment (e.g., Hoses, portable conveyors, transfer pumps, portable stair systems, small to medium-sized equipment, etc.)

Here are some of the physical requirements for this role: 

  • Ability to work outside in ALL weather conditions (snow, rain, sub-freezing temps)
  • Ability to climb up and down railcars and perform work underneath railcars
  • Willing to receive general safety training
  • Willing to work with liquid hazardous and dry bulk materials
  • Can carry at least fifty (50) pounds
  • In good physical condition (able to walk one 2 to 4 KMs per shift)
