Position Purpose:
Assist the Quality Assurance Team Leader in implementation and operations of Quality Assurance Systems. Act as a resource and provide support for the plants Food Safety program. Provide leadership and Technical support to the QA department/team to ensure products meet finished product standards and customer expectations. Assure compliance with Federal and State regulatory agencies and company safety standards. Maintain an active role in internal plant audits as well as regulatory and customer audits. Manage and oversee the plants customer complaint system.

Essential Functions
- Coordination of the plants Customer complaint system and activities: Includes logging complaints in a complaint data base, working with Leadership and others to effectively answer complaints in a timely manner, assist with implementation of corrective actions and reporting of complaints by department to drive process and quality improvements in this area.
- Coordinate technical laboratory processes/activities: Work closely with lab partners to ensure documentation is correct and current, work with production and formulations to bridge gaps where needed to ensure product meets internal specifications. Order and maintain inventory of quality assurance parts and supplies. Maintain and coordinate work and records on lab equipment, ie. Temp monitoring; weights, etc.
- Coordination of CTL Sample Process: Oversee the collection, documentation, review, preparation and shipment of CTL samples.
- Lead plant period Audits: Coordinate plant audit activities which include working with other plant partners and Leaders in auditing each plant department each period. This includes documentation and reporting of audit findings as well as follow-up on audit deficiencies.
- External/Customer Audits: Actively participate in Regulatory and Customer Audit activities.
- Food Safety Training: Provide Food Safety Training to plant partners including new hires and current Schreiber partners.
- QA Special projects: Act as a special projects assistant to the Quality Assurance Team Leader or Quality Assurance Team Advisor.
- Sanitation Support: Act as a resource to the Sanitation team by conducting Sanitation Audits, assist with training of QA partners in Sanitation Audits and environmental swabbing activities.
- Quality Systems: Work with QA team to transition the current finished goods inspection process to a pro-active process control system, provide support and assist with the maintenance of the plants Finished Goods Hold and Release process, assist with the coordination of Mock Recalls.
- Other duties as assigned by QATL/TA.
- Must be able to work overtime as needed. ** Must be willing to work all shifts (A/B/C). Must be willing to work weekends and overtime (as need)
Non-Essential Functions:
- Provide backup support to Quality Assurance Team Leader or Quality Assurance Team Advisor
EXPERIENCE:
Type: Work experience in Quality Systems, Food Safety, Microbiology or other technical science
Number of Years: 1-3 years
Other: Exposure to food processing, either through formal education or experience.
SKILLS:
- Proven leadership ability within a team environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
- Exposure to food processing, either through formal education or experience is desired.
- Must have excellent computer skills and be proficient in MS Excel, Word and Access. (testing required)
- Must be a self-starter and able to make decisions with minimal supervision/oversight.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills required.
