The Senior Manager, Sourcing is responsible for developing and executing the sourcing strategy across all Schreiber Mexico operations to ensure reliable supply, optimal quality, cost competitiveness, and risk management for assigned categories. This role provides strategic leadership for dairy ingredients, non-dairy ingredients, packaging materials, and indirect spend categories.
The position partners closely with Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, R&D, Quality, Engineering, and Commercial teams to align sourcing strategies with business objectives, improve total cost of ownership, strengthen supplier relationships, manage supply risks, and advance sustainability initiatives. The role leads a team of sourcing professionals and collaborates with regional and global sourcing organizations to leverage scale and best practices.
What you'll do:
- Develop and execute sourcing strategies for dairy ingredients, non-dairy ingredients, packaging materials, and indirect categories across manufacturing locations.
- Establish annual sourcing objectives aligned with business, operational, and financial goals.
- Identify and execute cost optimization opportunities while maintaining quality, service, and supply continuity.
- Incorporate regional and global sourcing strategies where appropriate to leverage purchasing scale and supplier synergies.
- Develop strategic supplier partnerships to improve performance, innovation, and long-term value creation.
- Lead supplier negotiations, contract development, and commercial agreements.
- Conduct supplier business reviews and maintain supplier performance scorecards.
- Resolve critical supplier performance, quality, delivery, and commercial issues.
- Monitor commodity markets and industry trends impacting dairy, non-dairy, packaging, and indirect spend categories.
- Develop and maintain risk mitigation plans related to supply continuity, pricing volatility, geopolitical factors, sustainability risks, and regulatory compliance ensuring adequate sourcing contingency plans for critical materials and services.
- Deliver annual cost savings, productivity, and value creation targets.
- Monitor total cost of ownership across all sourcing categories.
- Partner with Finance to develop budgets, forecasts, and sourcing-related financial analyses.
- Support business planning through market intelligence, commodity forecasting, and pricing recommendations.
- Partner with Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, R&D, Engineering, and Commercial teams to align sourcing decisions with business requirements.
- Support new product development initiatives through supplier identification, qualification, and material sourcing.
- Support company sustainability objectives through responsible sourcing practices.
- Promote supply chain transparency and compliance with applicable customer, regulatory, and corporate requirements.
- Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing sourcing team
What you'll need to succeed:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Finance or Business Administration, MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in sourcing, procurement, supply chain or category management
- Knowledge of commodity market analysis and risk mitigation planning
- Experience with contract negotiation and supplier management
- Experience supporting multi-site manufacturing operations
