SUMMARY:
Our servers possess an infectious enthusiasm for the culinary world, wine and spirits, they provide exceptional service to our guests during their dining experience with us by possessing a thorough understanding of Forbes 4 Star service level expectations and executing them.
WHAT YOU GET TO DO:
- Greet guests and present specials, share your enthusiasm for the culinary world, wine and spirits
- Take orders and deliver food and beverage accurately and timely, consistently checking for quality
- Up-sell Food and Beverage options by making well Informed and eloquent suggestions.
- Check in on patrons to be sure their meals are exceeding expectations and take action to correct any issues
- Calculate chit (tickets or orders printed from the point-of-sale system) accurately, complete payment processing for orders, including delivery of the check and verifying payment method.
- Diplomatically communicate with all serving and back of house teams, acting as a team
- Assist with opening and closing procedures.
- Clean service areas, restock service stations, complete side work such as rolling silverware, making accoutrements for dishes, refilling and labeling condiments, prepping garnishes, polishing glassware, napkin inventory, organizing, re-stocking and prepping for next shift as well as assisting other team members as needed.
- Support and participate in other duties as determined necessary by F&B Management
Requirements
WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:
- 6 months of experience in a fine-dining or high-volume environment at a high-end restaurant, resort, or private club preferred.
- Able to communicate effectively with and receive information from guests and team members
- Ability to multi-task while being highly organized, detail oriented
- Excellent customer service skills
- Must be able to correctly take a guest's order, enter it into the POS system, and correctly tender it
- Able to carry 25 lbs on a large oval tray; lifting supplies or equipment of thirty (30) pounds or more
- Functional knowledge of food techniques for preparation
- Functional wine and cocktail knowledge with basic preparation techniques
- Know the Shore Lodge's history
- Know McCall and the surrounding area well enough to help familiarize out of town guests with our local offerings
