The Space and Intelligence Division provides professional services to the US Space Force, Combatant Commands, Intelligence Community, and NASA. The Space Systems Group (SSG), part of SPA's Space and Intelligence Division, provides timely and objective assessments and recommendations integrating technical, operational, programmatic, policy and business analysis. We focus on our key clients in the Space community including the US Space Force's Space Systems Command (USSF/SSC), one of the three designated Field Commands under USSF. SPA has an immediate need for a Journeyman Civilian Personnel Support Specialist.


Responsibilities

The Civilian Personnel Support Specialist (CIVPERS) provides civilian personnel administration, workforce management, and HR operations support to U.S. Space Force and national security space organizations.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

Civilian Personnel Administration

  • Provide civilian personnel and HR administrative support to leadership and staff.
  • Coordinate onboarding, offboarding, staffing support, awards packages, personnel documentation, and workforce tracking.
  • Maintain personnel records, staffing trackers, organizational charts, and workforce reports.
  • Assist with hiring coordination, interview scheduling, and personnel package routing.

Workforce & Organizational Support

  • Coordinate meetings, schedules, suspense actions, and administrative support requirements.
  • Support manpower reporting, staffing data calls, and workforce accountability activities.
  • Prepare correspondence, memoranda, executive summaries, and staffing packages.
  • Interface professionally with civilian, military, contractor, and external stakeholders.

Compliance & Process Improvement

  • Ensure compliance with applicable federal, DoD, Department of the Air Force, and U.S. Space Force guidance.
  • Support workforce visibility, personnel tracking, and process improvement initiatives.
  • Handle sensitive personnel information with discretion and professionalism.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Active DoD Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
  • Minimum 5 years of experience supporting civilian personnel administration, HR operations, or workforce management within the federal government or DoD
  • Experience supporting DoD, U.S. Space Force, U.S. Air Force, Intelligence Community, or related organizations
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong written, verbal, organizational, and multitasking skills
  • Ability to report to designated work location in Chantilly, up to full time, based on the needs of the customer

 

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience supporting national security space organizations or headquarters environments
  • Familiarity with civilian personnel workflows, manpower reporting, and federal administrative procedures
  • Experience supporting senior executives or leadership teams
