The Joint, Office of the Secretary of Defense, Interagency Division provides expert support services to a range of customers spanning across the Department of War (DoW), Federal Civilian, and international markets. JOID provides a diverse portfolio of analytical and programmatic capabilities to help our customers make informed decisions on their most challenging issues.
The Acquisition and Technology Analysis Group within JOID specializes in the application of multi-disciplinary analytic skills to support multiple clients within the DoW. These clients include the Office of the Under Secretary of War for Research and Engineering (OUSW(R&E)), Office of the Under Secretary of War for Acquisition and Sustainment (OUSW(A&S)), DARPA, the Joint Staff, and USINDOPACOM. SPA provides critical decision support to enabling and executing a strategy of technological superiority and enabling the delivery and sustainment of secure, resilient, and preeminent capabilities to the warfighter quickly and cost effectively. Our team of experienced military, technical, and operations research analysts is skilled in evaluating military problems, identifying the driving factors, devising innovative approaches, collecting applicable data, developing necessary software tools, and performing thorough and timely assessments to inform technology and acquisition governance decisions to ensure U.S. military forces retain military superiority in the future.
We have an upcoming need for a Joint Training Program Analyst to provide full-time onsite support at the Pentagon.
Responsibilities
SPA is seeking a high-performing Joint Training Program Analyst to join a small, dynamic team within the Joint Exercises and Training (JET) office under the Office of the Assistant Secretary of War for Readiness (OASW(R)), within the Joint Assessment & Enabling Capability (JAEC) office. This role provides critical policy, program advisory, and staff support to implement and assess the Joint Training, Exercise, Evaluation Program (JTEEP). The candidate will deliver an operational military perspective to design training performance methodologies, unblock administrative logjams, and provide decision-support data for senior military leadership.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree.
- 8+ years of relevant work experience.
- Active Top Secret clearance.
- Joint Training experience and familiarity with JTS, JTT, JTIMS or DRRS, and/or experience on Combatant Command or Service Component staff.
- Proven Action Officer (AO) experience managing and completing complex staffing packages.
- Data analysis experience, including an understanding of data visualization techniques.
- Strong written and oral skills with a proven ability to brief and effectively communicate at Flag and SES levels; proven ability to gain consensus among peers and lead working groups across organizations.
- Able to work fully onsite based on client needs.
Desired:
- Experience drafting, tracking, and adjudicating inputs for official DoW Directives, Instructions, Manuals, and memos.
- Proficiency with CATMS, Defense Agencies Initiative (DAI), SharePoint, and MS Teams.
- Experience utilizing enterprise social collaboration platforms (e.g., IntelShare and MS Teams) to preserve and share organizational knowledge.
- Working knowledge of Pentagon and administrative processes supporting staff coordination.
