Required Skills/Experience:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree
  • Years of Experience: Preferably 3+ years of experience as a project manager or deputy/assistant program manager, but we'll be flexible
  • Certifications: We'd like a PMP, but will wait if you're on track to get one
  • Understanding of the federal government contracting environment, particularly those aspects specific to funding, reporting, and deliverables
  • Experience with managing program/project financials
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, along with a sense of humor
  • Familiarity with concepts, practices, and procedures of different contract types, including FFP, CPFF, T&M, and IDIQ (if you have at least one or two, we can train you on the rest)
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Excel
  • Must be detail-oriented and organized
  • Ability to prioritize in a sometimes rapidly changing and fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • DoD Secret Clearance and the ability to maintain it throughout employment


Responsibilities

The Project Manager will provide programmatic support on multiple government contracts to maximize performance, quality, and profitability. This position will coordinate project, contract, and finance-related activities and data calls for assigned projects while ensuring compliance with internal procedures and contract requirements.

 

What You Will Do:

  • Plan, track, analyze, and report on multiple projects of varying size and complexity
  • Prepare draft monthly status reports, including summary financial data as required by individual programs
  • Set up deliverable workflows and monitor status to ensure timely delivery
  • Schedule/coordinate/conduct project status meetings
  • May function as the PM on a small program, while also supporting other (more senior) PMs in our highly matrixed environment
  • May interact with government customers and prime contractors
  • Coordinate with the team's project control analyst to ensure project financial workbooks are updated
  • Ensure that program and contract documentation (invoices, contract modifications, etc.) are current in the document repository
  • Interface collaboratively with program/project managers, senior technical staff, as well as other functional organizations including the contracts and finance teams
  • Analyze project/task financial and schedule data and keep PMs apprised of status and risks
  • Assist in updating quality and process documentation (process flows and work instructions)
  • Recommend process improvements
