We are looking for a Senior Linux Administrator to join our team to support the IFMC Program Office, AMD Mission Command Product Office.

The Senior Linux Administrator will provide support to the Tactical Innovation and Experimentation Lab (TIEL) for the upkeep, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems. The selected candidate will work directly with end customers to meet their needs while ensuring the performance and security of the computer system.


Responsibilities

Responsibilities include analyzing system logs and identifying potential issues with computer systems, applying operating system updates, patches, and configuration changes, installing and configuring new hardware and software, and adding, removing, or updating user account information, including resetting passwords. Additional duties involve managing system security, documenting system configurations, troubleshooting anomalies, training personnel on the use of the system, and supporting Approval to Operate (ATO) requirements.


Qualifications

At a minimum you should have:

  • A bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, electronics engineering, or computer engineering
  • 8+ years of experience as a Systems Administrator
  • 5+ years of experience configuring, administering, and maintaining Linux computer systems
  • Current Security+ and either Linux+ or RedHat certifications
  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7, 8, 9 and/or 10 experience
  • Experience in configuration and management of physical and/or virtual machine environments
  • Basic network knowledge
  • Ability to work in a rapidly changing customer environment in a closed lab
  • Must be a team player and work in a collaborative team environment
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot issues quickly
  • Strong work ethic
  • A focus on the needs of the customer and the team
  • An active SECRET security clearance and the ability to maintain it throughout employment

You will be highly desirable if you have:

  • Windows workstation and server experience
  • Active Directory experience
  • Experience with OpenShift
  • Experience with Ansible Automation
  • Experience with DoD security compliance (NIST 800-171, CMMC, DISA STIGs)
  • Experience in scripting languages
  • Experience in Layer 2/Layer 3 switching/routing, management of Cisco devices, and working knowledge of firewall technologies
  • Experience supporting RMF security plans, procedures, and compliance
  • Experience with any of the following: HPE/Synergy,Synology,NetApp,VEEAM, Gitlab
