The Joint, Office of the Secretary of Defense, Interagency Division provides expert support services to a range of customers spanning across the Department of Defense, Federal Civilian, and international markets. JOID provides a diverse portfolio of analytical and programmatic capabilities to help our customers make informed decisions on their most challenging issues. The Acquisition and Technology Analysis Group within JOID specializes in the application of multi-disciplinary analytic skills to support multiple clients within the Department of Defense (DoD). These clients include the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Research and Engineering (OUSD(R&E)), Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition and Sustainment (OUSD(A&S)), DARPA, the Joint Staff, and USINDOPACOM. SPA provides critical decision support to enabling and executing a strategy of technological superiority and enabling the delivery and sustainment of secure, resilient, and preeminent capabilities to the warfighter quickly and cost effectively. Our team of experienced military, technical, and operations research analysts is skilled in evaluating military problems, identifying the driving factors, devising innovative approaches, collecting applicable data, developing necessary software tools, and performing thorough and timely assessments to inform technology and acquisition governance decisions to ensure U.S. military forces retain military superiority in the future. We have a near-term need for a Sr. Executive Assistant to provide onsite support out of the Pentagon or Mark Center. Responsibilities The candidate will provide executive-level administrative assistant support and quality customer services for the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense - Research and Engineering and components within the OUSD (R&E) and the Deputy Secretary of Defense (DSD). Manage the day-to-day activities of the office; maintain a professional work environment by applying Senior Executive Service protocols; plan and schedule meetings, appointments, and conferences; and interact with the public and receive visitors to the office. Coordinate and prepare official Government travel using the Defense Travel System (DTS). Organize and maintain files and records; mail processing; and monitor the Correspondence and Task Management System (CATMS) tracking system. Provide strategic support for the day-to-day Management of the office. Integrate support activities below to ensure that R&E senior leaders are prepared for meetings in a timely manner; scheduling actions are performed consistently, completely, rapidly and accurately; incoming requests and communications are appropriately triaged, addressed, and recorded; assigned actions are transparently communicated and coordinated for action and completion; and the overall professionalism, quality, and level of support in the office is calibrated to meet the needs of a fast-paced, highly complex senior OSD organization. Manage and maintain the complex calendars and schedules of R&E senior leaders. Provide professional and technical support to the USD/DUSD (R&E) regarding their mission of advancing technology and innovation across the Department. Assure that executive decisions are understood and carried out according to the direction and guidance of the USD/DUSD (R&E); develop, recommend, and implement modifications to current procedures and policies to improve efficiency; assist the USD/DUSD (R&E) in assessing the OUSD (R&E) policies, requirements, plans, and programs in support of the Department's initiatives; and plan, develop, coordinate, and expedite actions. Qualifications Required: Bachelor's degree OR 14 years of relevant experience 10+ years of DoD front office experience Active DoD TS/SCI clearance Advanced skills in Microsoft (MS) Office applications to include MS Outlook, MS PowerPoint, MS Word, and MS Excel Demonstrated experience providing timely and high-quality support to Executive-level Principals in a complex and fast-paced DoD environment requiring a high-degree of critical thinking, initiative, problem solving, and professional judgment across an organizational setting Knowledge and experience applying analytic approaches to address client needs and both plan and implement a strategic direction Demonstrated experience and skills in providing Executive Level Administrative Assistant support to Senior Executives in the Government, Military (DoD Flag/General Officers), or Private Sector Able to work fully onsite based on client needs
