The Strategic Division (SD) supports high-reliability organizations including Navy Strategic Systems Programs (SSP), Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center, and the Department of Energy (DOE), among others. Our support across our client base is expanding rapidly and encompasses important services, such as data analytics and visualization, threat analysis, risk management, modeling and simulation, cost estimating, earned value management, program management, system engineering, independent evaluation, and High Consequence Event prevention.

 

The Sentinel Intercontinental Ballistic Missile Group (SIG) supports the Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center in the acquisition of the LGM-35A Sentinel (GBSD) ICBM weapon system. SIG delivers program management, systems engineering, and subject matter expertise to ensure on-time delivery of a safe, secure, and reliable strategic nuclear weapon system. SIG is conducting an immediate hire for a Modeling and Simulation engineer supporting the MMIII program. 

 


Responsibilities

The Engineer will work within the Weapon System Assessment and Reference Models (WSARM) team supporting the Minuteman III Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) weapon system program. The successful candidate will be an integral part of a talented and highly-skilled team that supports Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center (AFNWC) and Air Force Global Strike Command (AFGSC) with software modeling and simulation efforts, reference model updates and Integration with flight software. Responsibilities include:

  • Provide improvements to the Government Flight Simulator – Minuteman III (GFS-M).
  • Update a highly complex 6-Degree of Freedom simulation software tool.
  • Develop, maintain, and modify software tools to evaluate vehicle performance.
  • Provide engineering support to investigate off-nominal vehicle performance through Monte Carlo analysis.
  • Perform mass properties evaluations in support of design change assessments.
  • Perform Missile System, Missile Vehicle Body Dynamics, and performance analyses.
  • Maintain physics-based engineering models and perform statistical analyses.
  • Publish various briefing materials and reports.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Ability to work full-time at Hill AFB in Utah.
  • Active SECRET clearance with ability to obtain TS/SCI.
  • Bachelor of Science in an Engineering field from an ABET accredited program or Computer Science.
  • 4+ years of direct related experience, including experience in developing and maintaining 6 Degree of Freedom software tools.
  • Experience with analysis and software programing experience.
  • Background in structural, thermal, fluids, dynamics analyses.
  • Technical writing and presentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Matlab, C, C++, Python, Fortran, and/or Ada programming languages are desired.
  • NASTRAN experience is desired.
