Position Summary

The Supply Chain Analyst is responsible for developing and managing the master production schedule, leading planning processes, and ensuring alignment between customer demand, material availability, production capacity, and inventory strategy. This position serves as a key link between Sales, Supply Chain, Operations, Purchasing, and Production.

The ideal candidate is highly analytical, enjoys working with data, and can translate complex information into actionable recommendations. This individual will support planning and scheduling activities, analyze business performance, lead cross-functional discussions, and help drive continuous improvement across the organization.

This position is well-suited for someone who combines strong technical and analytical skills with business acumen, communication abilities, and a collaborative mindset.


Key Responsibilities

Planning & Analysis

  • Develop and maintain production plans that support customer demand and operational objectives.
  • Analyze demand, inventory, capacity, and operational data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Support business planning efforts through data-driven recommendations and strategic analysis.
  • Monitor key performance indicators and provide insights to support decision-making.
  • Conduct root-cause analysis and recommend solutions to operational and supply chain challenges.
  • Assist with forecasting, inventory planning, and capacity planning activities.

Data Management & Reporting

  • Create and maintain reports, dashboards, and performance metrics.
  • Utilize Excel and business systems to analyze large data sets and generate actionable insights.
  • Ensure data accuracy and integrity across planning and reporting processes.
  • Present findings and recommendations to leadership and cross-functional teams.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Sales, Operations, Purchasing, Engineering, and Supply Chain teams to align priorities and business objectives.
  • Lead and facilitate meetings involving cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Communicate planning assumptions, risks, opportunities, and recommended actions.
  • Build strong partnerships through effective collaboration, active listening, and problem-solving.

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify and implement process improvements that enhance efficiency, visibility, and decision-making.
  • Support initiatives focused on inventory optimization, workflow improvement, and operational performance.
  • Help develop standardized planning and reporting processes.
  • Contribute to a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement


Qualifications

Key Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Analytics, Operations, Finance, Engineering, or a related field; equivalent experience considered.
  • 3+ years of experience in supply chain, operations, planning, business analysis, inventory management, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data and make business recommendations.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including: 
  • Pivot Tables
  • VLOOKUP
  • XLOOKUP
  • SUMIF/SUMIFS
  • Data analysis and reporting
  • Strong computer proficiency and ability to learn new software and business systems.
  • Experience developing plans, evaluating alternatives, and supporting strategic decision-making.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Comfortable leading meetings and presenting information to groups of up to 20 participants.
  • Strong business acumen and understanding of how decisions impact operational and financial performance.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Strong collaboration, listening, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in manufacturing, industrial operations, distribution, or supply chain environments.
  • Experience with ERP, MRP, or other planning systems.
  • APICS/ASCM CPIM, CSCP, or related certification.
