Job Title: Associate Director, Managed Account Platform/Hedge Fund Accounting
Locations: New York City (hybrid) or Union, NJ (hybrid)
About the Role
The role is based within the New York coverage team for the EMEA Funds Services Department. EMEA Fund Services is the department within SS&C primarily focused on providing MBO and Administration services for Hedge Funds / Fund of Funds / Institutional Asset Managers as well as Family Wealth offices. The role would sit within the group that specializes in multi-manager, multi-fund platforms and Managed Account Platforms working within a team servicing one of EMEA's biggest clients.
The position involves actively managing the service deliverables, including the production of a daily P&L reporting, Monthly NAV, and middle-back office services to our client by working with the client aligned service group to ensure all end to end service deliverables are met on a daily basis. The successful applicant will need to work across the internal service groups and although they will have an accounting background, they will be expected to understand the day-to-day day operational processing. They should be building partnerships with their clients and internal groups, running projects to improve areas of the business, and ensuring that the services we provide allow the client to grow their business confident in our performance.

How You Will Make An Impact
Client Service / Delivery Management
- Providing fund accounting expertise to the Managed Account Platform team and being responsible for fund accounting service deliverables
- Ensuring global fund accounting projects are delivered to Managed Account Platform area
- Representing the Account Manager Team for a large Managed Account Platform, one of EMEA's biggest Fund Administration clients, operating a number of platforms with many global hedge funds across a multitude of jurisdictions
- Working closely with clients to understand their needs and service requirements and formalizing account plans
- Facilitating and chairing regular in person service review meetings
- Responsible for managing client issues and projects through to satisfactory resolution across all functions
- Ability to build effective relationships with key internal and external stakeholders at all levels
- Ensure all services are provided to clients in accordance with the contracts and any service level agreements
- Ownership of client delivery, including though not limited to, oversight and accountability of the day to day processing activities which include all facets of Fund Administration; Middle Back Office, Fund Accounting, and Investor Services
- Assist in the completion of investor due diligence questionnaires and presentations
- Assist in the completion of SS&C Fund Administration Board Reports and presenting at the quarterly Board Meetings
- Support / contribute in the client aligned deliverables of the production service teams across multiple locations
- Able to provide system demos / training as and when required to the clients and discuss forthcoming changes to those systems
- Client on-boarding, working with the Implementations team to ensure all services subscribed for are included, all testing carried out and sign off from all relevant departments and the client is achieved before the launch date
Fund Accounting
- Manage a portfolio of alternative investment fund clients, partnering with senior leadership to deliver exceptional client service, oversee engagement timelines, and ensure all deliverables are completed accurately and on schedule
- Serve as a technical accounting resource by reviewing fund governing documents, complex investment transactions, workpapers, management fee calculations, investor allocations, capital activity, and distribution waterfall models to ensure compliance with fund terms and accounting standards
- Oversee the preparation and review of financial statements, supporting schedules, and other client deliverables while driving consistency, quality, and continuous improvement in review processes and controls
- Lead the coordination of year-end audits and collaborate with clients, auditors, and internal tax teams to support timely financial reporting and compliance requirements
- Coach, mentor, and develop team members by providing technical guidance, performance feedback, career development support, and opportunities for continued learning and growth
- Build strong client relationships by participating in client meetings, supporting business development initiatives, and proactively addressing client needs and expectation
- Contribute to departmental initiatives and operational improvements that enhance efficiency, strengthen team performance, and support the firm's overall business objectives
Business Development
- Identify process and system improvements across all functions
- Investigate potential opportunities for account growth and new business
- Develop ideas to increase revenue from existing and new clients
- Assist the sales team in their efforts to attract new business; participate in presentations on SS&C's service solutions to prospective clients and consultants
- Keep abreast of industry-wide changes affecting clients and work with them to understand the impact - how these changes will affect their business model whilst ensuring we are able to provide STP solutions
Required Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field
- 8–10+ years of fund accounting experience, including significant experience with alternative investment funds
- Strong knowledge of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and other comprehensive bases of accounting, with an emphasis on investment partnerships
- 3–5+ years of experience leading and developing accounting professionals
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, projects, and client engagements in a fast-paced environment
- Strong leadership, coaching, and relationship management skills
- Excellent analytical, organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills

Actual base salary will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to relevant skills, prior experience, education, demonstrated performance, and geographic location. New Jersey: The expected base salary for the position is between $91,000 USD to $190,000 USD. New York: The expected base salary for the position is between $91,000 USD to $190,000 USD. In addition, employees in this role may be eligible for consideration on an annual basis for a discretionary bonus and/or equity awards, such as restricted stock units or stock options, based upon individual and business performance at the company's discretion.
