Job Description
Role Purpose
The Business Analyst (BA) works collaboratively across business and technology teams to analyse, design, and deliver process and system improvements. Operating within an hybrid environment, the BA plays a key role in defining requirements, optimising workflows, supporting automation initiatives (including RPA and emerging AI/agentic technologies), and ensuring high‑quality delivery through structured UAT management.
This role supports strategic transformation projects across the business, including reengineering operational processes, enhancing service levels, creating capacity, and enabling automation solutions that span the full trading lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Requirements & Analysis
Engage with stakeholders to gather, analyse, validate, and document business requirements.
Produce clear and structured documentation including Process Design Documents (PDDs), user stories, acceptance criteria, use cases, and process maps.
Analyse current business processes to identify inefficiencies, risks, and opportunities for optimisation or automation.
Evaluate new ideas, technologies, and automation opportunities, ensuring strong business cases and measurable benefits.
Act as a bridge between business teams, development, and operations to ensure shared understanding and alignment.
Process & Workflow Design
Own the definition and design of future‑state operational workflows.
Model processes using process mapping and tools such as Business Optix or equivalent.
Lead workshops, interviews, and requirement‑gathering sessions with cross‑functional teams across locations.
Ensure all process changes follow appropriate change‑control governance and documentation standards.
Take ownership of process/tool design on behalf of business teams and secure stakeholder approval.
Automation, AI & Agentic Capabilities
Support the design and delivery of RPA solutions (e.g., BluePrism) and ensure requirements are automation‑ready.
Collaborate with technical teams to integrate AI, ML, LLMs, VLM's and agentic workflows into business processes where appropriate.
Identify opportunities to leverage AI for decision support, data extraction, workflow orchestration, and conversational interfaces
Maintain awareness of emerging AI technologies and assess their applicability to business challenges.
UAT Ownership
Create and manage the full UAT lifecycle, including test strategy, test plans, test scripts, and acceptance criteria.
Coordinate UAT execution with business users, ensuring defects are logged, triaged, and resolved efficiently.
Validate that delivered solutions meet business requirements, regulatory needs, and operational expectations.
Provide clear reporting on UAT progress, risks, and readiness for delivery into production.
Delivery & Stakeholder Engagement
Support development teams during design, build, and implementation phases.
Monitor project progress, ensuring alignment with business objectives, timelines, and quality standards.
Build and maintain strong relationships across Operations, IT, and other stakeholder groups.
Provide post‑deployment support and assist business users in adopting new processes and tools.
Essential Skills & Experience
Technical & Analytical
Proven experience as a Business Analyst or similar role.
Strong requirements‑gathering, process analysis, and documentation skills.
Experience with BPM and process modelling tools
Experience designing or supporting RPA solutions.
Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel, SQL, and Jira.
Experience in business process reengineering and continuous improvement.
Ability to build business cases and perform cost/benefit analysis.
Strong planning, organisational, and reporting capabilities.
AI & Automation Skills
Understanding of AI concepts including LLMs, VLMs, machine learning, and agentic workflows.
Ability to identify AI use cases within business processes.
Familiarity with conversational AI, chatbots, and intelligent automation.
Awareness of data governance, model limitations, and responsible AI principles.
Personal & Professional

Desirable Skills & Experience
Experience within Asset Management, Wealth Management, or Life & Pensions.
Understanding of the UK collective investment market or third‑party administration.
Cross‑border funds/operations knowledge.
Experience working in Agile environments.
Lean/Six Sigma experience / ECBA or higher
Exposure to coding languages (C#, Java, HTML, CSS, VB.NET, SQL Server, VBA).
Experience with RPA tools such as UiPath or BluePrism.
Customer service or operational background.
