- Certification Details
- Certs: ACLS, BLS, PALS, dysrhythmia certification through AHA (can be done online by completing course material and exam, print certificate upon passing exam), TNCC preferred.

- A hospital in California is looking for an experienced ICU RN for a travel assignment.
- The right candidate will have 2+ years of experience.
- Job Requirements
- Hold an active BLS, ACLS, PALS, and CA license.
- 2 years in specialty required.
- Must be able to hit the ground running and blend into culture and family type atmosphere.
- Drips include heparin, insulin, levophed, dopamine.
- Schedule Information
- Shifts: 12 hrs 7-7, self scheduling to some degree, schedules are made out about 30-45 days in advance.
- Weekend Requirement: every other or 4 weekend shifts in 4 weeks.
- Unit Specific Information
- Unit: ICU - # beds: 8, beds avg census is 3-4 patients.
- Ratios: 1 to 1-2.
- Nurse Aides: No - do have Unit clerk.
- Charge Nurse: Yes - they take patient assignment.
- IV Team: No.
- RT 24/7: Yes.
- Pharmacy 24/7: No, 10 hr days and also telepharm for after hours.
- Floating: Would rarely float but if they did it would be to medsurg where pt ratio would be 1 to 5, could also float to peds 1 to 4 if qualified and ER if qualified.
- Tele: phillips - central monitoring tech monitors ER as well.
- Vents: Via or Hamiltons.
- Hospitalist or Intensivist in house: Not 24/7 - they have to be available 24/7 but not actually in house.
- Call: not required but if they want to take call they can.
- Additional Details
- Cerner experience preferred for candidates.
- Will take new travelers.
- Must be team player and have experience working a smaller ICU unit.
- Days, EOW, First to Float.
