Overview

The State Rehabilitation Council is currently seeking a part-time Coordinator to oversee all activities of the Council including the development and implementation of the annual work plan. The State Rehabilitation Council partners with VocRehab Vermont to find ways to improve and expand services to Vermonters with disabilities. The Council is made up of representatives from the business sector, people with disabilities, advocates, the Vermont Client Assistance Program (CAP) and community partners. All SRC members are appointed by the Governor and serve terms of varying lengths as determined by Council guidelines.


This is a temporary, part-time position with an expected duration of about one year. If you have strong administrative and planning skills, working knowledge of human services programs, and have been looking for a part-time position to fit your schedule, this could be the right opportunity for you!


Specific duties of the State Rehabilitation Council Coordinator will include:

  • Develop and prepare the SRC meeting agendas
  • Coordinate all logistic details of the meeting including space, interpreters, teleconferencing/video conferencing and meals.
  • Plan and coordinate the work of the SRC committees (currently composed of Steering, Policies and Procedures, Performance Review and Advocacy)
  • Attend the meetings and take minutes.
  • Write an annual report on activities of the SRC and distribute to the Governor and the Rehabilitation Services Administration
  • Assure that the composition and overall activities of the SRC comply fully with the pertinent portions of the Rehabilitation Act.
  • Recruit new members to apply for appointment to the SRC. Maintain relations with the Governor's office for prompt appointments of new members.
  • Provide clerical and administrative support to the SRC.
  • Maintain the content of the SRC website. Ensure all materials are up to date and appropriate

Minimum Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent AND three 3 years or more of experience providing administrative-level support to a business or organization.

 

OR

 

One year of full-time college level study in accounting, business or public administration, office administration or a related field AND two 2 years or more of experience providing administrative-level support to a business or organization.

 

OR

 

Two years of full-time college level study OR an associate's degree or higher in accounting, business or public administration, office administration or a related field AND one 1 year or more of experience providing administrative-level support to a business or organization.

 

OR

 

Three years or more of full-time college level study OR a bachelor's degree in accounting, business or public administration, office administration or a related field.

 

OR

 

One 1 year or more of experience as an Administrative Services Coordinator I with the State of Vermont.

 

NOTE: Only administrative work experience is qualifying. Administrative support includes those functions which keep the organization running or provide the resources for others to provide the programmatic work e.g., accounting, budget management, grant administration, finance, human resources, payroll, purchasing, or space management.
