Overview

Radio Technology Services (RTS) at the Department of Public Safety (DPS) seeks a Contracts and Grants Administrator. This position will coordinate the execution of a federal grant to improve the DPS communications network. 

 

The position will be responsible for the following:

  • Coordinate grant administration
  • Prepare and file grant progress reports
  • Monitor and coordinate compliance with grant conditions
  • Track and monitor individual grant projects
  • Coordinate the development of specifications of goods and services necessary for individual projects
  • Plan, coordinate, and track the procurement of goods and services
  • Prepare procurement memorandums and draft requests for proposals
  • Coordinate development of contracts

 

This temporary position will be full-time in person initially, and will eventually scale back to part-time remote work. The project is expected to extend over at least two years. For more information about RTS, visit this site.

This position, Contracts & Grants Administrator - Temporary (Job Requisition #55283), is open to all State employees and external applicants. This is a temporary position. Temporary work is typically for variable hours and is not expected to be full-time. The State does not guarantee 40 hours of work per week.

PUBLIC SAFETY BACKGROUND CHECKS: Candidates must pass any level of background investigation applicable to the position to include Motor Vehicle/Criminal Records, Personal History, Credit and any additional background check(s).

Environmental Factors

Duties are performed in a standard office setting, but may involve some travel for which private means of transportation is required. Some evening or overtime work may be necessary. Interaction with grantees, contractors and consultants through phone contact is required.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or higher AND two (2) years of work experience that includes one or more of the following: (a) administration of grants/contracts as a funder and/or recipient; (b) collaboration with community partners in the delivery of social services; c) enforcement of provider agreements; OR d) management of financial affairs or a governmental accounting system.

OR

Four (4) years of experience that includes one or more of the following: (a) administration of grants/contracts as a funder and/or recipient; (b) collaboration with community partners in the delivery of social services; c) enforcement of provider agreements; OR d) management of financial affairs or a governmental accounting system.
