If this sounds appealing to you, then consider our Construction Inspector opportunity. The position is based in and around Miami, FL.

 

Your Role: 

  • Act as an Owner's Representative, observing and overseeing a combination of horizontal and vertical construction
  • Ensure compliance with design plans, specifications, and permit requirements. 
  • Maintain comprehensive records of contractor progress, including precise quantity records, payment requests, punch lists, and certification of completion status. 
  • Document site activities accurately by maintaining accurate and current field books, construction reports, and as-built record drawings. 
  • Work closely with Client personnel, contractors, and project stakeholders throughout project timelines. 
  • Coordinate with third-party materials testing firms for concrete, soil, and weld testing. 

 

 

Qualifications: 

  • 2+ years of experience inspecting civil infrastructure projects. Port and general transportation projects are preferred
  • Proven track record working with municipal agencies or utility infrastructure organizations 
  • Experience in delivery of and/or supporting technical work (construction technical specifications, drawings, documentation) in a construction environment
  • Demonstrated ability to handle simultaneous inspection of multiple projects
  • Ability to react proactively in a high-paced environment and willingness to adjust effectively to changes
  • Valid Driver's License with an acceptable driving record  
  • Must be able to travel to various project locations and construction sites frequently
  • Must be able to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC)

 

 Physical Requirements  

  • This position may require protracted or irregular hours depending on the season. 
  • Occasionally ascend/descend ladders into trenches or onto roofs when inspecting construction and land development sites. 
  • May be subject to exposure to extreme outdoor weather conditions, hazardous materials and chemicals, heavy construction equipment, confined spaces, heights, and air and waterborne pathogens. 
  • May handle and move items up to 50 lbs for various needs.
  • This position could require periodic travel, approximately 15% or more
