Tetra Tech is seeking a Field Technician to join our team in West Covina, CA. This role involves working on landfill sites, installing and maintaining landfill environmental systems. Systems typically include landfill gas, liquid, air, and flare stations. Work will be conducted throughout the state of California although there may be the opportunity to work in other states as needed. The pay scale for this position is $26-$30 an hour, based on qualifications and experience. 

 

Your Role:

  • Working with High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) and the fusing process
  • Drive safely and operate and maintain service trucks
  • Work as part of various sized crews on project sites
  • Communicate project status to supervisors
  • Follow all company safety guidelines
  • Adhere to all company required training and complete online training courses
  • Maintain job equipment and hand tools

 

Qualifications:

  • Valid CA Driver's License in good standing
  • 3-5 years of experience working with PVC and HDPE piping along with Pipe fusion and fitting and installation
  • A general understanding or background working with mechanical systems
  • Willing to travel and work on out-of-town projects as needed
  • Pass a pre-employment physical exam and drug test
  • Pass HDPE pipe and fitting fusion training
  • Pass OSHA 40HR, 8 HR refresher and confined space course with wearing respirators
  • Working knowledge of various Microsoft programs (Excel, Word, and Outlook)
  • Ability to train on lock out and tag out procedures for working on piping and electrical systems
  • General knowledge on reading blueprints to allow for proper installation of project piping and equipment
