Essential Job Functions:
The following duties are considered essential to the role. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions:
• Perform UXO detection, identification, and clearance operations within an assigned area of responsibility/knowledge, under immediate direction and supervision of a higher qualified UXO employee in accordance with specified criteria and stated requirements.
• Perform underwater UXO operations that use divers or snorkelers to perform work or support scientific research projects.
• Utilize applicable requirements (codes, standards, specifications, regulations, procedures, etc.) and, as necessary, tools, instruments, and equipment to perform assigned activities.
• Assist in the preparation of required work documents such as supportive records/documentation.
• Provide overall in-country management of the task order and the contractors of the on-the-ground team.
• Provide hands-on leadership for search teams in their day-to-day operations.
• Ensure proper training, equipping, and rehearsal of AXO/IED removal teams and their supporting elements and will manage the day-to-day implementation of AXO/IED removal tasks throughout the program.
• Provide expertise and oversight in ordnance removal, disposal, and destruction and PSSM activities.
• Perform various other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
• Certificate of completion from an UXO or EOD program.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record within the past 3 years.
• Valid passport with at least 1 year left for international travel.
• 40-hour HAZWOPER certification.
Diver Required Qualifications (Additional):
• Divers must have federal training certificates (USACE, NOAA, and/or military diving schools) or civilian diving school certificates of completion for the appropriate training level issued by any ANSI/ACDE accredited schools.
• Divers must be a minimum 21 years old, and must be cleared by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives per regulation concerning the handling of explosives.
Required Qualifications for Underwater Projects:
Each person engaged in diving and underwater operations shall possess the necessary qualifications for the job assignment. Designation of skill levels in these standards incorporates three primary elements:
• Technical training
• Field experience
• Demonstrated proficiency
Persons assigned to specific diving and underwater activities shall possess the following:
1. Knowledge and skills gained through a combination of formal training and/or experience in the following:
• Diving procedures and techniques.
• Emergency procedures.
• Physiology and physics as they relate to diving.
• Diving equipment.
• First aid, CPR, AED, Neuro assessment and Emergency O2.
2. Familiarity with procedures and proficiency in the use of tools, equipment, devices and systems associated with the assigned tasks.
3. For persons who operate decompression chambers, knowledge and experience with chamber operations.
Preferred Qualifications:
• An Associate's degree or higher is preferred for senior level positions.
• International experience.
• Construction or Hazardous Waste Operations experience.
• Secret Security Clearance.
Physical Requirements:
• Lift a minimum of 50 pounds on a non-consistent basis.
• Walk long distances, up and down steep slopes, and varied outdoor terrain.
• Climb, bend, and stand for extended periods of time.
• Maintain high physical stamina and hydration in tropical or arid environments.
• Ability to perform tasks that require steady hands and precise movements under pressure.
Additional Physical Requirements for Divers:
• For persons engaged in diving activities or otherwise exposed to hyperbaric conditions, physical qualifications for such activities must be met as outlined in EM 385-1-1 Section 30. Such physical qualifications must be documented on an appropriate medical history and physical examination form.
Work Environment / Environmental Factors:
• Conditions related to diving/underwater tasks.
• Frequent exposure to extreme temperature fluctuations and direct sunlight.
• Work in regions with high humidity, heavy rainfall, snow, or dust storms.
• Potential exposure to chemical residues, fumes, or explosive particulates.
• Work on uneven, rocky, sandy, or muddy terrain; potential for unstable ground.
• Exposure to wildlife, insects, and vegetation hazards.
• Operations conducted in remote, austere environments with limited access to shelter or rest facilities.
• Exposure to noise, shockwaves, and vibrations from demolition or heavy machinery.
• Occasional exposure to fumes or gases.
• Potential for contact with contaminated soil, groundwater, or hazardous waste.
Additional Information:
• Projects may be for days, weeks, or months at a time.
• Up to 100% of travel is required.

Compensation:
Pay commensurate with experience, role, and project/contract dependent.
A pre-employment drug screen in compliance with federal regulations is required, along with a physical if needed.
