20 hours per week, days with some on call.
Main Function:
- Provides alcohol & drug testing. Assists clinical & clerical staff to facilitate flow of patients & health information for customers' medical records.
- Supports nursing and medical staff in the admission, treatment & discharge of patients.
- Responsible for training of clinic staff in collection of specimens for drug tests and collection.
- Troubleshoots problems with technical equipment.
Required Job Specific Competencies:
- Demonstrates skill in AED, Breath Alcohol technician, audiogram and spirometry calibration and test administration, ECG, DOT and non-DOT urine drug collection.
- Demonstrates knowledge of medical terminology.
- Demonstrates the ability to work independently and exhibits flexibility in decision making and prioritizing assignments.
- Demonstrates the ability to develop and maintain collaborative working relationships with patients, providers, associates & corporate customers.
- Actively guards the confidentiality of sensitive information including but not limited to the patients, staff and the health system.
- Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patient.
Qualifications:
- CPR Certification
- High School diploma or GED required
- Minimum of two years of experience in an outpatient clinic, physician office or emergency department preferred.
- Knows spelling and use of medical terminology
- Must possess excellent patient/public relations and communication skills
- Proficient in data entry
Pay Range: $16.50 - $20.00
Starting Pay: Based on Experience
