Schedule:  Monday – Friday, after hours and weekends as required.  Hybrid.   Candidates must live within a reasonable commuting distance of the communities served by Travis Credit Union, which include the following counties: Alameda, Colusa, Contra Costa, Merced, Napa, Placer, Sacramento, San Joaquin, Solano, Sonoma, Stanislaus, and Yolo. For hybrid and remote roles, candidates are still required to reside within a commutable distance of our corporate headquarters in Vacaville, California.   We are unable to sponsor or assume sponsorship of employment visas for this position. Candidates must have current authorization to work in the U.S. (no sponsorship available).   Summary:  Via strategic outreach, Travis Credit Union's (TCU) Community Engagement Officers  develop new and leverage existing relationships creating opportunities for growth through financial education, financial literacy, and financial advocacy. These Community Engagement Officers represent the Cooperative's philanthropic commitment to changing lives and lifting communities through financial wellness in the core counties TCU serves.   Profile:

  • Builds and executes a business plan with targeted community events which will result in TCU achieving Primary Financial Institution Status in the communities we serve.
  • Responsible for (establishing, researching, developing and managing) programs that target the credit union's services/programs to benefit members, prospective members and the community.
  • Keeps current on industry trends and technologies to ensure best practices are utilized. Tracks and measures social investment development efforts, ensuring alignment with the credit union's strategic initiatives.
  • Develops new external relationships; enhances and leverages existing relationships with non-profits and other community organizations.
  • Assesses targeted community events for optimal organizational engagement, inclusive of program methodology, event requirements, and support personnel coordination.
  • Works with other internal departments as a business partner to develop partnerships, better equipping staff to recommend programs improving our member's financial lives.
  • May be required to recruit, develop and engage with community advisory committees, specialized programs, along with broader engagement analyses to create greater financial wellness impact.
  • Directs, collaborates, and maintains innovative data capture modeling for TCU's community events.
  • Advises and communicates best practices for efficient resource management on projects in assigned regions.
  • Responsible for identifying, applying and celebrating target community's awards and recognitions that enhance TCUs reputation.
  • Uses knowledge of targeted communities' culture, hierarchy, and structure to create financial wellness opportunities.
  • Manages grant opportunities through application/execution.
  • Responsible for target community budgets.

  • Proficient skills with MS Office, .PDF editing, and Google forms.
  • Relates to people in an open, friendly, and professional manner.
  • Resolves conflicts, confrontations, and disagreements positively and constructively.
  Reporting and Experience:  

Community Engagement Officer
  • Reports directly to Supervisor, Community Relations.
  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 2 years of related experience; or an advanced degree without experience; or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience developing, implementing and delivering effective educational training programs and events.

Sr. Community Engagement Officer

  • Reports directly to assigned department leadership.
  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 5 years of related experience; or a master's degree and 3 years of experience; or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience developing, implementing and delivering effective educational training programs and events.
 

Compensation

Community Engagement Officer/Grade 14:  $75,857.60 – 93,724.80

Sr. Community Engagement Officer Reporting and Experience/Grade 17: $98,238.40 - $115,564.80
