Position Summary:   The HR enterprise is comprised of three unique business units: medical center, health sciences, and main campus, as well as People Services, an HR shared service center. The Partnership serves as a strategic center responsible for planning and implementing strategic initiatives across the entire UCI HR enterprise. Members of the Partnership work in close collaboration with all three business units and People Services to leverage expertise across the enterprise. The Total Rewards (TR) Team develops approaches to attract, recognize and retain employees through the delivery of compensation and benefits programs.
  Under the supervision of the Benefits and Retirement Manager and in collaboration with various University constituencies, the Health Care Facilitator (HCF) will develop and administer a specialized health-care related service program. The incumbent will educate UCI campus and Health, coworkers, retirees, and their dependents about their University-sponsored medical coverage and health care delivery system; assist and counsel individuals unable to access satisfactory levels of service when normal channels of assistance are unsuccessful; intervene on behalf of the client in the resolution of service complaints. Uses skills and experience as a seasoned, experienced professional with a comprehensive understanding of employee benefits practices and University policies and procedures. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions and developing recommendations relative to employee benefits programs where analysis of situations and data requires a review of a variety of factors.   Total Compensation:

Required:
  • Two years of experience in a like role is required for this job.
  • Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
  • Strong analytical skills to conduct analysis and develop recommendations, demonstrating organization and problem-solving skills. 
  • Demonstrated strong writing, speaking, and group presentation skills in order to present information in a clear and concise manner to multiple levels in the organization. 
  • In-depth knowledge of all benefits programs in order to provide information and interpretation. In-depth knowledge of applicable state and federal law.
  Preferred:
  • Strong in-depth knowledge of organization policies and procedures; knowledge of functional area and understands how work may impact other areas. 
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the organization's employee benefits function and programs and can address unique circumstances as well as routine situations. 
  • Familiarity with case management platforms and the employee case management life cycle. 
  • Experience in higher education benefits or public sector
  Special Conditions Required:   Supports offices in Orange and Irvine; must be able to reliably report to these different worksites, as needed.
