Description
This role supports student employment recruitment by handling key HR functions such as onboarding, orientation, I-9 verification, and data management. Responsibilities include ensuring compliance in hiring processes, maintaining accurate records, managing job postings, coordinating with stakeholders, and assisting with administrative tasks to support the student employment experience.
Minimum Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree and two years office administration or project management experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree with two years of related experience in HR or a similar field. Basic knowledge of recruitment, hiring, and onboarding practices.
Requires attention to detail, accuracy, and the ability to meet strict deadlines. Must possess a high level of integrity and professionalism in working with highly sensitive data; be proactive in identifying and troubleshooting issues; be able to successfully complete tasks with minimum supervision; compose routine email correspondence; other duties as assigned.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
This role supports student employment recruitment and includes key HR functions such as:
- Conduct onboarding appointments and other hiring procedures as needed
- Conduct brief orientation sessions for new student employees.
- Complete I-9 verifications for new hires, ensuring accuracy and compliance with federal guidelines. Maintain and update records as required.
- Review and verify department information submitted in the ePAR system for accuracy prior to processing the hiring request
- Maintain employee data in HR systems, ensuring information is up-to-date and compliant with organizational and legal standards.
- Manage the administration and review of all part-time, on-campus positions in Handshake to ensure compliance with all established policies.
- Monitor the student employment shared email inbox.
- Create and update hiring guides and policies.
- Participate in required meetings with stakeholders, including UTD HR, the Equifax representative, and others.
- Review and approve student-employee hiring proposals, initiate background checks, and extend offer letters to students.
- Assist with additional administrative tasks as needed, including tracking employee compliance and providing general office support.
- Other duties as assigned.
Additional Information
Remote Notice:
After the probationary period, this role may be eligible for a hybrid (partly remote/partly in office) work schedule, subject to business need and manager approval. Must be located within the DFW Area and have the ability to be on campus with 24 hours of notice. A UT Dallas Remote Work Agreement will be required within 14 days after approval.
