Description

Work with multiple IT teams and functional departments to develop, maintain, and enhance Enterprise PeopleSoft Applications and Oracle databases.

Minimum Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree and 4 years of related experience or associate's degree and 6 years of related experience or high school diploma and 8 years of related experience.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems or related field with ten or more years' experience in systems analysis, design, and software programming including:
    • 5+ years' experience as an Oracle DBA (Oracle 11g/12c/19c) which includes Oracle database replication, database migrations, and upgrades and experience with database backup and recovery (including RMAN);
    • 3+ years' experience as a PeopleSoft DBA and/or PeopleSoft Administrator (PeopleTools 8.x, Database upgrade/Data Management Tools, PeopleSoft Application/Tools Upgrade);
    • 5+ years' experience with UNIX/LINUX Shell scripting.
  • General understanding of all phases of the application development lifecycle and project management disciplines.
  • Strong MS Office skills (Word, Excel).
  • Oracle DBA Certifications and Certifications in supported technologies.
  • Experience with PeopleSoft Campus Solutions, Enterprise Portal, HCM, Financials, EPM, and/or CRM.
  • Experience integrating PeopleSoft with non-PeopleSoft Applications.
  • Excellent organization, teamwork, problem-solving, and communication (verbal and written) skills.
  • Ability to work well with people in all levels of the organization and handle fast paced, dynamic, sometimes volatile environment.
  • Previous experience leading a team in design, install and deployment projects a plus. 


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and enhance Enterprise PeopleSoft applications and Oracle databases; maintain PeopleSoft environments including installation, upgrades, patches, replication, data refreshes, performance tuning, and monitoring of Web and Application servers.
  • Assist with the management of all production and non-production Oracle databases, including installation, upgrades, patches, backups and recovery, replication, archiving, security, tuning, disaster recovery, monitoring, and validation to support departmental and organizational needs.
  • Manage the database environment to identify and recommend alternatives to poorly coded applications, including consulting with end users and developers to recommend the most appropriate database solution.
  • Assist with application development with database design considerations.
  • Assist in the designs of data security models to help protect the university's data.
  • Comply with existing standards, document and communicate any system changes.
  • Provide service and support determined by the current service level agreements, including on-call support.
  • Provide third level support for database and systems problems and work with IT personnel to resolve database issues.
  • Perform impact analysis on all Oracle security patches and parameter requests and provide proposals for applying them effectively. –

Additional Information

  • Position location will be discussed during the interview process.
  • Location can be Fort Worth, TX or Richardson, TX.
  • Hybrid remote work environment available. A UT Dallas Remote Work Agreement is required upon employment.
  • Must have the ability to be on Richardson campus with 48 hours of notice.
