Wilson Health is looking for a direct hire Cardiac Catheterization Lab Radiology Tech for our location in Sidney, Ohio (North Dayton, Ohio) area.

Employment Status: Part Time

Hours: 3 days, 9-hour shifts (27 hours weekly/54 hours bi-weekly)

Shift: 1st Shift

Call Rotation: 12 days/month and every 3rd weekend. Available within 30 minutes of being called in.

Department Description

The Cardiovascular Interventional Lab at Wilson Health provides diagnostic and interventional procedures for adult and geriatric patients. As a Cardiovascular Interventional Technologist, you operate radiologic equipment to produce high-quality images, assist physicians during procedures, and help ensure optimal patient outcomes. You are a critical member of the interventional team, supporting cardiologists, radiologists, and surgeons to deliver safe, compassionate care.

 

Job Summary

The Cardiovascular Interventional Technologist is responsible for performing diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular and peripheral vascular procedures. You work under the direction of physicians and collaborate with nurses and surgical staff to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care. You apply your technical knowledge, clinical skills, and attention to detail to support the patient, physician, and team during procedures. You also serve as a resource for staff, help maintain workflow, and foster a professional, team-oriented environment.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular and peripheral vascular procedures using radiologic and fluoroscopic techniques.
  • Assist physicians as a scrub tech, maintaining aseptic technique and sterile field.
  • Position, manipulate, and prepare catheters and guidewires; document findings accurately.
  • Demonstrate compassion, respect, and caring for patients while performing procedures.
  • Explain procedures to patients and respond to questions regarding exams.
  • Monitor patient vital signs including blood pressure, ECG, and pulse oximetry.
  • Assist RNs with admissions, discharges, and collection of relevant patient data.
  • Maintain knowledge of vascular anatomy, equipment, and procedural techniques.
  • Learn and apply coding and charging procedures to ensure proper billing.
  • Respond to emergent call situations within 30-minute response time.
  • Maintain professional communication with physicians, staff, patients, and families.
  • Demonstrate initiative, problem-solving, and sound judgment in high-pressure or emergency situations.
  • Participate in continuing education, in-services, and departmental training to maintain licensure and certification.

 

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree (A.A.S.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school
  • ARRT registered or registry-eligible; Cardiac Interventional and/or Vascular Interventional registered, or willing to obtain
  • Licensed by the Ohio Department of Health
  • BLS and ACLS certification within six months of hire
  • Basic computer skills required
  • Two years of Cath Lab/Interventional Radiology experience preferred, but not required
  • Strong problem-solving skills, initiative, and ability to work under stressful conditions
  • Ability to work independently and recognize the impact of errors on patient care
  • Professional demeanor with strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Commitment to maintaining acceptable levels of attendance and punctuality
