- Manage, supervise, and oversee maintenance team associates. Resolves associate issues as required and participates in interviewing, hiring, discipline, promotions, terminations, training, and staff development.
- Schedule and assign staffing to ensure adequate coverage. Implements practices that meet productivity goals, limits over-time, monitors attendance, and adjusts staffing needs for maximum efficiency and meeting of deadlines.
- Provide expertise and support to all operations and maintenance technicians as needed.
- Conduct daily team huddles and staff meetings.
- Maintains the entire hospital and outbuilding facilities, including the physical building structures, HVAC systems, and any other related equipment in accordance with energy conservation and preventative maintenance programs.
- Schedule, assign, and track work orders and PM (Preventative Maintenance) tasks utilizing TMS work order system.
- Reviews completed PM's, WO's, Inspection log sheets, and history records for accuracy, on-time completion, and follow up actions as required. Monitor and report on the overall effectiveness of the preventative maintenance program.
- Vendor and contractor scheduling and management. Work with vendors and contractors as required for service or preventative maintenance services.
- Promotes importance of overall safety awareness leading by example and holding others accountable. Conducts regular safety rounds and ensures policies for safe practices are updated and utilized so everyone knows proper procedures for handling emergencies. (ex: security issues, fire alarms, utility outages, etc.)
- Works closely with and supports department Director on budgeting, polices, regulatory compliance, safety, hazardous materials, department purchasing and utilities management.
- Provide status update reports to Director of Plant Operations on a regular basis on the state of the environment including building structures, systems, and equipment with recommendations and proposals for improvement in the most cost-efficient manner.
- Adheres to all hospital-required purchasing policies and controls, including but not limited to, all outside contractor bids, budgets, and schedules.
- Highly engaged and hands on leader with positive attitude.
- Experience in healthcare facility management including maintenance practices and regulatory compliance.
- Proficiency in budgeting and financial management
- Significant knowledge of safety standards and precautions pertaining to plant maintenance and repair work.
- Significant knowledge of HVAC, electrical and plumbing systems
- Knowledge of NFPA and Life Safety Code
- Ability to work in emergency situations such as equipment failures, weather, and security related incidents.
- Leadership skills to lead a diverse workforce with varying abilities and skills and the ability to work cooperatively with others.
- Low pressure boiler license desirable
- Familiarity with ACHC desirable
- Associates degree in facilities management or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 3 years in a direct report management / supervisory role
- 5 years healthcare facilities experience: Preferred
- Preference will be given to candidates with experience in life safety, environment of care, safety management, construction management in a healthcare related facility.
