Job Overview:

The AV Technician I is responsible for maintenance, setup, and operation of all audio-visual (AV) equipment. The AV Technician I also provides information to guests and associates regarding the variety and availability of specific equipment, their costs, usage policies and procedures, and other pertinent information as it relates to the AV department.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provides outstanding guest and associate service while performing the assigned duties, including interpreting and conveying information, answering questions and assisting guests, vendors, and associates with AV issues and concerns while at Wind Creek Hospitality properties
  • Performs preventative maintenance, repair, or arranges for the outside repair of all AV equipment as needed
  • Maintains a detailed inventory of all AV equipment and its current availability or status
  • Provides information to guests and associates regarding the variety and availability of specific audio and visual equipment, their costs, usage policies and procedures and other pertinent information as it relates to the Audio-Visual department
  • Explains opportunities and necessary timelines for obtaining rental equipment, sets up restraints and shipping information for booths and related equipment; Follows up by personal interaction, phone, or by fax communications
  • Assists in the setup, design and operation of the concert sound and lighting systems, as necessary or required
  • Monitors, maintains and adjusts the operation of the hotel and casino sound and lighting systems as needed
  • Troubleshoots, adjusts and corrects problems or issues with the public viewed satellite TV systems
  • Works with the appropriate department and clients to develop system requirements and set up AV equipment as needed
  • Maintains a high degree of confidentiality in performing all aspects of their assigned responsibilities
  • Provides a variety of accurate and timely reports, logs and forms, as required by Management
  • Ensures that the workplace remains safe through the training, mentoring and use of the established policies, procedures and guidelines
  • Effectively and efficiently works under established time and cost constraints to meet requested deadlines for all audio-visual set-ups, connections or repairs and other work-related projects
  • Assists in protecting and safeguarding all company assets
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Job Requirements: (please ensure you meet the listed requirements prior to applying)

  • Must have a high school diploma or GED is required or enrolled and successfully complete a GED program within six (6) months from start date as a condition of continued employment
  • Must be nineteen (19) years of age or older
  • Avixa-Recognized AV Technologist certification– preferred
  • One (1) year audio-visual technical work experience in a professional/structured paid position with a recognized company or one (1) year technical experience with professional recognized concert production company- required
  • Complete understanding of any given audio signal path and the ability to troubleshoot both digital, analog audio and visual systems; Ability to work on Computer enhanced display systems (a skills test will be administered and a passing score of 70% or above)- required
  • Must have an understanding of DMX lighting control
  • Ability to read stage plots as well as input list and set a stage accordingly
  • Knowledge of 70v distributed audio system
  • Knowledge of distributed digital signage over IP
  • Basic computer networking skills (e.g.) wired or wireless connectivity
  • Video formats (e.g.) standard definition, high definition
  • Ability to use MS Office products: PowerPoint, Word, Excel
  • Video projection: Properly setting up projectors and screens for presentations
  • Ability to identify audio, video, lightning and communication cables
  • Must have and maintain valid state-issued operator driver's license
  • Willing to work odd and irregular hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Willing to travel and participate in training as recommended or required
  • Must have a Tribal Gaming License (or the ability to obtain and maintain a license) as a requirement for this position
  • Must have willingness and ability to work in a smoke/secondary smoke environment
