- Job Requirements
- ACLS, BLS certifications required
- Experience: at least 1 year in ICU setting
- Must be able to titrate drips
- Common titratable &/or set rate drips include: Heparin, Cardizem, Amiodarone, Nitro, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Insulin
- Must be comfortable managing the majority of these drips
- Must be able to interpret heart rate strips
- Schedule Information
- Shifts: 7 AM to 7 PM or 7 PM to 7 AM
- Schedule is published 6 weeks out for 4 weeks at a time
- Flexibility required with scheduling
- Night shift block scheduling may be accommodated
- Every other weekend requirement
- Holiday requirements as per permanent staff rotation
- On-call or standby requirement possible
- Unit Specific Information
- Float Pool: ICU, MedSurg Tele, and PCU across both campuses including inpatients holding in ED
- Nurse aids available on this unit in all settings
- Float Pool Scheduler will manage the work schedule
- Scrub Color/Dress Code: Solid color professional scrubs, shifting to Navy scrubs in October to align with Dignity guidelines
- Unit/Department-specific orientation: 12-hour shift orientation in relevant units
- End of Week (EOW) and holiday rotation included
- Additional Details
- Nurse to patient ratios: PCU 1:4, MedSurg Tele 1:5-6
- Common patient types include geriatric, ortho, post procedural cath lab, and post MI
- Charge nurses will not take assignments
- Nurse aids utilized with appropriate ratios
- Respiratory equipment such as CPAP, BiPap available
- Charge Nurse/House Supervisor does not take an assignment
- Notification of unit assignment 2 hours prior via text message
- Travel between campuses may be required (about 20-25 minutes)
