Description

The Contract and Legal Administrator will provide legal support to all Yusen business divisions across the US while helping to mitigate legal risks, facilitate compliance with all applicable laws and corporate policies and organize and maintain the contract database. The Contract and Legal Administrator will work closely with other members of the Legal, Quality and Governance Department.

  • Administer the contracts management system and database, and identify ways to enhance and make more efficient the contract management process;
  • Organize, store, and maintain contract and litigation files;
  • Upload, label and disseminate all executed contracts in the contract database;
  • Ensure all contract records are up to date;
  • Create comparisons of different contract versions to assist the attorneys;
  • Circulate contracts for electronic signature through Docusign or other program;
  • Ensure contract version presented for signature matches final negotiated document;
  • Track contract status and expiration to ensure timely amendments, extensions and rate modifications;
  • Track and report on contract-related metrics to GHQ and internally;
  • Assist with contract audits;
  • Prepare summaries and abstracts of contracts and leases;
  • Assist attorneys with drafts of simple contracts such as NDAs, releases, and contract amendments;
  • Coordinate and maintain applicable business license and state registrations in conjunction with Finance Department;
  • Maintain spreadsheets and reports for insurance claims, pending litigation, state business registrations and other matters relevant to the business;
  • Assist with organizing documents produced in litigation;
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by members of the Legal Department.
  • Associates Degree or Paralegal Certificate required; Bachelor's degree a plus;
  • Prior implementation of new database is a plus;
  • 2-4  years prior experience in assisting with document productions and subpoena responses in litigation is a plus;
  • Must know Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Sharepoint and PowerBI as well as Docusign and Adobe Acrobat;
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously;
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion;
  • Some travel may be required;
  • Position is subject to our hybrid work policy. Proximity to Secaucus preferred.
