Description

The HR Expatriate Specialist will serve as the primary point of contact for our expatriates into the United States. This includes support in the areas of extensions, renewals, transfers, and permanent resident sponsorship. The HR Coordinator will ensure compliance with immigration laws and maintain accurate and up to date records.

  • Main point of contact for any visa and immigration support needed for nonimmigrant workers in the United States.
  • Communicate with immigration attorneys and coordinate necessary paperwork to support the immigration process.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date immigration records and documentation.
  • Act as a point of contact between HQ in Japan and Japanese expatriates.
  • Receive compensation data from HQ and provide to Payroll for processing after adjustments.
  • Support expatriates with home leave, moving, housing security deposits, and other related tasks.
  • Provide initial set up for expatriate employees into the US and preparation support for expatriates leaving the US for another assignment.
  • Assist with the translation of HQ documents from Japanese to English.
  • Assist with coordinating tax return filing support, monitoring tax refunds, check dispatch, responding to correspondence/instructions from CPA.
  • Maintain communication channel via MS Teams for sharing information with expatriate population.
  • Administration of company vehicles in conjunction with finance department.
  • Answer questions and provide information to expatriate population on various topics on an ongoing basis.
  • Must be fluent in Japanese and English, and Possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Possess a strong sense of urgency and attention to detail.
  • 2+ years of experience with visas and immigration.
  • Proven ability to prioritize and manage time effectively and efficiently.
  • Demonstrates and recommends alternative solutions for process improvements.
  • Excellent customer service skills.

Physical Demands.  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and perform tasks requiring repetitive use of hands.  Employee must have the ability to see written documents and computer screens.

Work Environment.  Work conditions vary by facility, including warehouse locations. Emphasis is placed on being present at field locations, working with executive management as well as all levels of employees.

Work after normal business hours and weekends may be required on occasion.
