Bay Advanced Technologies, an Applied Fluid Power subsidiary, is currently looking for a Buyer to join our team.  If you're outgoing, technically sound, and think you have what it takes – Apply Today!

 

As a Buyer, you will review demand requirements, net on hand inventory, and place purchase orders with assigned and selected suppliers.  Evaluate drawings and consult with engineers to identify electrical/mechanical component requirements.  Source, qualify, and select suppliers.  Monitor supplier performance.  Communicate with and coordinate the activities of suppliers and internal resources to resolve supplier related issues.

Here are some of the position's Key Responsibilities:

  • Place purchase orders for distribution items.
  • Exercise good judgment and working knowledge of materials and source supply to make purchases at a price consistent with quality and quantity.
  • Process and vendor shipping discrepancies associated with assigned vendors.
  • Resolve invoice discrepancies for assigned suppliers.
  • Establish and maintain all assigned vendor-pricing matrixes.
  • Process assigned vendors annual stock returns for overstock and slow-moving products.
  • Monitor and evaluate distribution suppliers for delivery and quality.

 

Top candidates will have a minimum of 2 years as a Buyer in a make–to–order Design and Manufacturing environment.
