The Manager of Income Tax will primarily be responsible for consolidating the corporate tax and managing the day-to-day preparation, calculations, and analysis for income tax reporting and tax compliance. This role will report to the Director of Income Tax and will lead federal and multi-state income and franchise tax work, along with the tax credits, incentives, and withholding for the company. Job Description:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field of study required
  • Master's degree preferred
  • Certified Public Accountant License preferred

Work Experiences:

  • 5+ years of strong corporate income tax experience including federal and multi-state income tax provisions and tax compliance.
  • Strong tax provisions ASC740, FIN48, and 10Q/10K tax reporting experience required, with hands-on experience with public companies.
  • Management and preparation of federal and multi-state income tax compliance experience required, with hands-on experience with public companies.
  • Public accounting experience or equivalent publicly held company experience required
  • Experience managing compliance processes and consultants preferred
  • Strong tax research experience and technical tax-writing required.

Skills:

  • Computer – strong Excel, Word, Accounting, and Tax software (Fast Tax, CCH, OneSource, BNA), and Tax research experience
  • Strong tax provision and tax compliance experience required
  • A good knowledge of financial reporting out of ERP systems
  • Excellent organization and detail-oriented to ensure accuracy
  • Excellent interpersonal communication, analytical, and networking skills
  • Communication – effective listening, speaking, and writing skills, ability to write technical memoranda
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to proactively develop solutions
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects to meet deadlines
  • Ability to understand and interpret complex tax structures
  • Project oriented for completion of compliance filings; improvement of existing processes and technologies; collaborating and leading in identification, design, and implementation of new processes and technologies
  • Ability to supervise and manage consultants, advisors, and processes
  • Ability to read computer screens and printouts
  • Acceptable level of hearing and vision to perform job duties

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise, review, and work with consultants and advisors and assist in attaining team objectives established by the tax director
  • Prepare quarterly and annual income tax provisions and related disclosures, and is the primary technology expert for tax provision
  • Maintain the tax department compliance calendars
  • Prepare and review company federal income tax and state income and franchise tax returns for the company as required
  • Responsible for reporting and maintenance of  tax credits and incentive programs
  • Work with other personnel and departments to develop processes, reports, reconciliations, and controls for tax compliance, incentive, and planning matters
  • Identify and research tax issues
  • Research issues related to ASC 740
  • Reconcile tax accounts and discrepancies by collecting and analyzing financial and operational information
  • Review various state and local tax returns prepared by consultants and advisors
  • Manage the withholding and information reporting process for the company
  • Review and reconcile tax depreciation calculations prepared by Third Party Tax Services provider
  • Prepare annual tax depreciation roll forwards
  • Assist tax director with all income tax-related audits; gather the necessary data to support transactions; follow through to completion
  • Calculates and prepares tax payment remittances
  • Ensures integrity of results reported and confidentiality thereof
  • Required to learn company policies and procedures
  • Required to learn company safety rules
